Ok so I have a job interview tomorrow and I want to look nice. My DH keeps saying to just look “hot” and I will get the job. It is at a law firm and one of our friends is an partner there. I would be this friend’s paralegal. Frankly, I don’t want them to be focusing on my looks over my abilities but I still want to look nice and young.
My hair is long and fine and I have no clue what to do with it. I guess it is expected that you wear it up but I hate hate hate my hair up because it is so fine. The only time I wear it up is if it is in a sockbun type style and even then I only do that on my non-washing hair days. Does anyone have any ideas? I wish I could wear it down but I still want to look polished.

@miss narwhal: “hot” is definitely not the look you want to go for on an interview in a conservative professional environment like a law firm. You can definitely wear your hair down, but keep it tidy and out of your face. I usually go for a classic straight blow out on job interviews. How do you normally wear your hair in day to day life? Also, it depends upon what you mean by long hair…if it’s to your butt, I would definitely wear it up, just below the shoulders I think it’s fine to wear it down.

@miss narwhal: I always wear my hair down (except when its dirty hehe) even on interviews. To add a little extra touch I usually take a curling iron to the ends just to give them a bit more “oomph”. If your hair doesnt cooperate my next suggestion is pinning it a half up style.

@miss narwhal: I always wore my hair down and straight. I considered curling it but felt it wasn’t “job interview hair.” And I think ponytails are too casual… I am wearing one now because I slept in today and it’s been bothering me all day -_- a bun is nice but if you hate it then don’t do it because you want to feel confident!

For a job interview your hair needs to be out of your facr. Wear it up or down, just make sure they can see you. I wouldn’t put a whole bunch of stuff in it either: bobby pins that show or embellished headbands. I usually wear my hair down for interviews. My hair is fine as well, but I curl it to guve the ends *some* body. I also tuck my hair behind my ears to make sure during the conversation I don’t have tp worry about it getting in my face. Playing with loose strands will make you look young/ unprofessional.
