I’m going to wear my mom’s gorgeous old veil when I walk down the aisle. It’s a gorgeous single-layer (plus blusher) cathedral-length veil with lace on the edges. The top is a bit strange, though. It’s a little cap made of lace and pearls. The cap is very similar to this one:
There’s another good picture of a similar cap here, but the website won’t let me show the photo.
Anyway, it’s kind of difficult to explain, but there’s the main cap at the front like in that picture, and then there’s another little piece of wire that connects it in the back. I believe that you’re supposed to pull your hair through the center hole. Because of the way the cap sits, I think a high up-do would work the best with it. So far, the best idea I’ve had is a simple topknot, but that’s not really my style.
Can any of you ladies offer me some hair inspiration? My hair is long (down to mid-back), blonde, thin, and might very well be the straightest substance in the known universe. I’d like to have something sleek and very elegant with a bit of a Victorian feel to it. I’d like to have volume to it.
My only other requirement is that the hairdo go with my mask, which I’ll wear at our masquerade reception. I think that means I can’t have much in the way of bangs or anything in my face.
Any suggestions are welcome, ladies! Please give me some inspiration!
