I’m doing my hair/ makeup trial next week and I’m not sure I want my FI to see the complete look. He’s been very adamant that he wants to be completely surprised about how I’m going to look on the day of our wedding. My mom suggested taking out the updo and removing the makeup but I really want to see how everything looks at the end of day. I’ve been thinking about having the hairstyle and makeup changed a little at the end of appointment (after I take some pics of the real thing!). So I’ve decided to turn the hive for some advice…what do you think I should do?

I’ll probably let him see. But I don’t really think he would remember what it looked like anyway so I’m not worried! Besides that on it’s own doesn’t compare to the FULL version (in dress, veil, etc)

Oh, and I want to see how it holds up so I wouldn’t want to immediately take it out either. when is your appointment? Is there something you could go do with your mom afterward without your FI so he won’t be around so you could still see how it holds up?

My husband saw BOTH of my hair trials but I ended up changing my mind last minute and going with my hair up so he was totally surprised. I didn’t do a makeup trial before my wedding, I just winged it and lucky enough she did a great job.
Guys usually forget everything they see anywys so I wouldn’t worry about him seeing.

- Wedding: January 2013 - Harbourfront Grand Hall
Not doing a hair trial, but FI saw my makeup trial which didn’t concern me much and it will change a little because I’m doing airbrushing and for the trial she just used normal foundation (not that he’ll be able to see the difference…)

it might be to late- but if he doesn’t know what that is it does’t matter.
i won’t vote beacuse beside my veil and hair peice its going to be my normal down curly hair just with a little more volume and pretty close to my every day make up just add a little lip color and thats about it.

My FI did not want to see my hair after the trial. I literally had to pull it back into a messy bun as soon as I got home. :'(

I’m gonna show my FI. He’s kinda weird about makeup, so I want to make sure it’s not too much.

He saw the make up but not the hair (separate trials).

He saw the hair…and I was glad to get some reassurance that he liked it.

I let him see…in fact I kept it in an extra hour after traveling in the car over 4 hours and wearing it around all day for many more hours, just so he could see and approve. He has NOT seen my dress, but I know it’s something he’ll love, but I wanted to see what he thought of the hair and makeup since it was something I could easily change if he was like “Dear god what is on your face” LOL

I ended up letting him see, but for the wedding I’m wearing my grandma’s brooch in my hair, which I didn’t have in my hair for the trial. I was really happy I wore it for the entire day because my stylist used two different bobbie pins and some held better than others. For the wedding I definitely just want her to use the one type of bobbie pins. I also kept it in overnight to see how it looked after sleeping on it. We’re having a brunch the next morning so I was hoping I wouldn’t have to do my hair again in the morning. LOL SUCCESSS!!!!

My husband actually went to my trial with me. Logistically, I don’t know what was going on, but at the time he had just moved to my state from his home state and we were sharing my car. We drove about an hour down to the trial after work one evening and he sat playing on an iPad while the makeup artist worked. I didn’t have my hair done at the same time though. I feel that had I been having a hair trial at the same time I would not have wanted him to see. To me, the hair was a little more special (with the veil) since the makeup is just heavier than what I normally wear, as opposed to the hair tying it all together and really making me look like a bride.

The only reason I let him see pictures of my first trial is because I knew I was NOT hiring her! But the second lady I hired was it, and I didn’t let him see any pics.
