While the makeup can be fixed, you don’t want to be stressed about it on your wedding day. Are you 100% set on this person for the wedding?

@ellie-b:  I can relate in feeling deflated after expectations were really high.

But here’s what I notice, Your EYEs POP SO STUNNING!

I can speak from personal experience that any lip stain will dry out your lips. And uneven exfoliation, dyhydration, and not the right product topping can and will lead to that dried out uneven look. For more even lip color from a stain

1. DRINK LOTS AND LOTS OF WATER HOURS BEFORE WEARING MAKEUP, also good for adding that glow, do yourself an extra favor and preload water bottles with a time to be comsumed by. Hehehehe, pageant trick. Also toss in a lemon wedge or cucumber slice into each one.

2. Exfoliate your lips right, I mean moments before you are due for your makeup application. Using a toothbrush and some baking soda, you’ll remove any excess skin cells and give your artist a fresh slate to work with.

3. Hunt for a product that gives you the exact color and moisture, something you can wear as a “gloss” over your stain =)

You are gorgeous! And a few tricks will make that inner goddess shine!

What you got was not even close to the pictures you just posted. I would search for a different makeup artist.

Also, what city do you live in and what’s your price range? We can possibly help you find a good bridal hair & makeup artist in your area.

I agree with you- your lips do look chapped & uneven from the stain. I’ve only found one lip stain that doesn’t dry my lips out- wine country organics, made iwth grape seed oil. I also don’t think the foundation is as flattering as it should be & agree with you about the red areas. It doesn’t even look like she touched your eyebrows which are one of the most important framing aspects of your face!

I second PP by asking if you are 100% set on using this person, it does not look like she has a solid grasp on the look you are going for or really formal makeup in general..

I would get a different makeup artist, its obvious this person isnt going to give you what you want.

Also, if you wanted the face/eyes to be more dramatic, I’d suggest shaping the eyebrows and lightly filling them. The makeup artist should be able fill eyebrows without making it look unnatural.

I’m not a makeup artist but I do love my makeup…

Can i suggest getting fake lashes to give more va-voom!

Also, cleaned up eyebrows goes a long way!!!!

Would you consider layering a little more darker over the lids closer to the outer ends.

I’ll be honest I made the mistake of being so dead set on copying the model photo like for like that I forgot to look at the bigger picture to make sure that I looked nice overall. She copied the photo exactly on me but I think in the end I did not look my best 🙁

@BeckyS0:

@Talon:

That is exactly what came to my mind when I saw her results, too! The eyebrows are so important in framing the eyes, and especially in Kate Winslet’s look there. Bold ‘brows and they were completely untouched.

I would get a new MUA. I am very sorry but this doesnt look like professionally done makeup.

@Talon:  +1 on the eyebrows – you have great shaped eyebrows and beautiful brown eyes already, but a little cleaning up and filling in of the brows and they would make your eyes killer!

@gelaine22:  I have to agree with this, it just isn’t as clean as I would want for my big day. While your eyes are popping the shading is rather sloppy (sorry!).

The look you are going for is stunning! Definitely look for someone that can deliver this over the top gorgeous look.

Although it doesn’t look bad it’s not the picture and very day-to-day.  Also lipstain almost always sucks and I would just line and use a gloss over it.  Benefit is the only one I like and the color is very pink

The Kate Winslet picture I used as well to show my MUA as well as one of Taylor Swift- dramatic eyes and lips.  It seems the job she didn’t isn’t “thorough” and she should have had more contrast with the eyes and more contouring with the cheeks/chin.  Here’s my DIY trial zoomed in just to show the various shades and blending of the eyes, so it doesn’t look so flat.  I also don’t have fake lashes on.

And ditto with PP on the brows.

That doesn’t look anything like the pix and your eyes are uneven (on top of whatever other problems you pointed out with your lips). Don’t stress, just find a new lady.
