Sorry Lillindy .. I'm new to the Bay Area but I hope someone can bring some suggestions to the table!
Not sure how far you're willing to drive, but I can't recommend my stylist in Burlingame highly enough! She works at UK Hair on Burlingame Ave (650-347-1221) and her name is Laure Meyer. She's awesome with all hair lengths (mine is layered and 3/4ths down my back, my mom's is a little shorter than shoulder length), and her highlighting skills are fab. I've been with her for 5 years now, and will be with her until she retires!
Thanks for the suggestion. I guess if I got desperate I would drive that far, but the girl I've currently been going to is in Redwood City and even that is been quite far for me. Now, she's off on maternity leave and I desperately need a trim and some style in my hair because it has gotten so blah, so I'm hoping there's someone close to me that can fix my messy hair.
I love love love my hair person. She is in Willow Glen. I have been going to her for 8 years. Great hair cuts and highlights. Her name is Krissie and she works at Barranti Hair Design. 1266 Lincoln Ave # 1266 San Jose, CA 95125-3051 - (408) 289-8622
I see Colleen at Mane Event Salon in Campbell. She's great! I usually pay around $130 for highlight/low light and a cut! I've never walked out of there unhappy!

@oliveyou: Would you say the prices at Krissie's salon are reasonable? I ask because I'm a big cheapskate, lol.
@hbowar : The website you provided didn't work for me. Would you be able to tell me what just a cut cost?
I'm still in need for a reasonably priced stylist because my hair is getting lifeless and needs style. I went to a Supercuts or something for a bang trim (I have longish side swept bangs) thinking it wasn't rocket science, but apparently it is because the person HACKED my bangs and they are still all funky.
I'm new to the Bay Area. I'm living in Sunnyvale, and I just went to Farzan at Hair Glamour in Sunnyvale today. The salon got excellent reviews on yelp. I'm quite happy with my cut, so I would definitely recommend her. I have long fine hair, which never cooperates with me. It's not straight, and it's not wavy, and it doesn't blow dry well. Today, after my haircut was the first time I've been happy with how my hair looked in a long time :-)
Oh, btw, Hair Glamour was $45 for wash/cut/blow dry. That seemed reasonable to me, but I like I said, I just moved here, so I'm not sure what the norm is in the Silicon Valley area.
@skibobrown: Thanks, Sunnyvale is pretty close to me, plus I used to live there so I know the area. It sounds like a pretty fair price to me!
I just got my hair cut last week and it was $55. Not sure what the going rate is in this area, but I like my stylist, so I guess its worth the money! Not sure what's going on with the website, but here's link to their Yelp reveiws.

I know we are always looking for hair stylists for wedding hair, but does anyone know of anyone in the San Jose area that is great at doing regular haircuts & is not too expensive?
Thanks!
