So, I’m not a huge fan of having my hair all the way up… so I usually opt for a half up/half down style. However, my dress has an open lace back and covering this up with my hair kind of defeats the purpose of the back. Here is the dress (sorry about it including the neckline and other details). I don’t plan on having the drapery, though.
Any ideas for hair? I know there are a dozen+ Websites showing hair… but wanted to see what people thought on the board. Do you think a half up/half down style would still work for this dress? My hair is currently in a long bob right now, and the longest part in the front is maybe 3″ past my shoulders.

Could you do a side-swept half updo? That way it’s not all the way up, but it’s not covering your back.

I’m not sure that any style covering the back would work, since that lace detail is so pretty–but that’s just me. Have you thought about a side ponytail type style (or hair down and pulled in front of one shoulder) like the pic below? Or, if your hair’s not long enough, there’s always the side messy bun, which looks more natural than the traditional updo.

Ooh! I also love the idea of a side pony for this type of dress. Gorgeous by the way!

This is the look that I am going for, my makeup and hair person does a really good job so I feel comfortable with her in accomplishing my goal.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions!
I do like the side pnytail idea, but not sure if that will take away from the v-neck neckline – such decisions! I am hoping that by my wedding (which isn’t until October), my hair is much longer in order to do a side ponytail – if that is what I would do. I do have some side bangs, but lately they’re just blending into my hair… so who the heck knows what they’ll be like by October. I only plan on getting trims between now and then.

dont be afraid of using extensions either. if your hairdresser dyes them to be the exact same color as your hair, trims them to blend with your hair, no one will really know. They’ll just think your hair looks exceptionally full and gorgeous for the day 🙂

theEguarantee: The gal doing my hair does specialize in extensions, and I have worn them before… so that may be an option to get the look I’m looking for!
