Here are some pics from my hair trial yesterday. (Please excuse the fact that my makeup was not professionally done at this time). My FI's only request was that I wear my hair all down, or half up/half down, and I was SO afraid I wouldn't be able to pull off my birdcage veil (which I love) with my hair down but I think I was wrong! :)
I am going for an "Old Hollywood" look, and this pic of Sienna Miller was my inspiration...

You look amazing! I'm doing a birdcage veil too and I really wanted my hair down, but I always see pictures of pretty updos with a birdcage veil. This proves it can be done! Thanks for the inspiration :)
Gorgeous! I wish I'd been able to wear my hair down, but mine doesn't hold curl like that. Love the look with the veil.
The soft curls are SO perfectly old Hollywood glam. Beautiful, you wear it well!

I was VERY apprehensive about how I was gonna pull off the birdcage veil with my hair down- almost every birdcage pic I've ever seen, the hair is up! So when I realized it could work, I knew I had to post pics for bees who are in my situation so they can see that it CAN be done!
Oh, and I have a secret to share- my hair is on the finer side- and does not hold curl well on its own- so I went with the stylist to the beauty supply store and we bought clip in (real) human hair extensions to match my hair. These were a bit longer than I wanted, so the stylist is going to trim a bit off the bottom, but I was SHOCKED at how well they matched my hair. You definitely could not tell that this wasn't all my own hair- they don't look fake at all. I highly recommend! :)

Ok - seriously - - you can pull off ANY LOOK with that gorgeous hair. FANTASTIC job, BRAVO.. Thx tons for the hair clip info. My hair gal wants to do this with me as well and when she told me I looked at her like she was on drugs..I wasn't too sure about them. Now seeing them - poof my ill feelings are gonzo!!!
Btw sidenote - - May I borrow your hair pc (sans veil) for my 10.31 wedding, I'll return it I promise -

Ohhhh, you girls are gonna make me cry! I really just posted this to try to help anyone who is trying to figure out how to rock the birdcage veil- I'm totally overwhelmed (in a GOOD way) by all of your kind words and positive feedback.

@jackie-o: Definitely try the hair clip extensions- the real hair ones look and feel just like your hair. My Mom and sister were STUNNED at how dead-on it matched my real hair. They easily snap on and off, and what's also awesome is the you can use them again. Haha, and of course you can 'borrow' my pic- no returns necessary! 
@lergx6: No, it wouldn't be weird AT ALL if you saved it for hair inspiration- I posted it in the hopes that I could help someone out! Trust me, I am flattered!
