I LOVE your hair! I'd really like my style to be something similar, but I'm afraid that my hair may be too thin to pull it off.
Anyway, like i said, I think it looks great! If you're not comfortable with it or the stylist though, you still have time to do another run-through with someone else.
I really like it! do you have a full length picture so we can get more of a feel for you dress? From the head shot I think it looks really nice!
There definitely is a lot going on with your hair, but I think it's very elegant. To me, because of the simplicity of the dress, it WOULD be ok to have a more complicated hair style. The hair itself is great, but if you don't feel comfortable with the stylist, I can definitely see your hesitation to go back to her.
When you said it was too much, I was expecting to see something big and wild but it looks lovely. I think it looks great with your gown.
First of all, I think it looks gorgeous with your gown! I love the front and the way it's pulled up so gently at the nape of your neck. What I'm not crazy about is all the twisty turny's on the side. It seems a little prom-ish to me, but that's just my taste! I think if you don't like the stylist, go see someone else. You don't need to be dealing with someone you don't like on your wedding day and adding to your stress level. Getting your hair done is supposed to be a fun, relaxing experience! While you're in that chair you should be laughing and having a great time. Don't start your day off feeling uncomfortable and stressed about whether or not you're going to like the result!
From what I can see, it looks very pretty! Do you have someone who can take a full length shot? I think that might help! But, for the record, I think it looks very very pretty!
@bakerella- I think that might be what it is, the twisty stuff going on the sides that really turns me off, I think it takes away from the elegant look that I was going for. The back and the very front works well.
@msbutton- I don't have anyone but FI here and he can't take a picture. Plus it was giving me a bad headache so I took it down.
I think I'm going to go with the original style I picked out with a second trial at a salon. Thoughts on this style?
Oooh that would look so pretty with your dress! It's so vintage looking! I love it!
I too think it looks amazing! I think with the simplicity of the dress the hair fits perfectly!
I think it looks great. Nice and simple in the front, but with pretty detail in the back. And I don't think it over powers your dress at all, it compliments it.
i think it looks great!! but, if you didn't feel comfortable with the stylist, and it gave you a headache, def look into someone new...
I absolutely LOVE how your hair turned out!! It suits your face so well, and the look goes beautifully with your dress. Of course, if you really didn't feel comfortable with the stylist you might want to shop around for another one (if you don't mind going through another trial), but the end result is gorgeous.
I once made the mistake of telling a stylist that I wanted something romantic and loose, so she gave me twists similar to yours. While everyone in the salon claimed to love it, I really didn't like it at all - it reminded me too much of cornrows. It just wasn't me. That being said, I think the style looks nice on you, but I wouldn't say it's super elegant. If that's not the look you are going for, speak up and ask for something different. I tend to prefer the smoother look myself, it's a little classier.
I love your hair! I don't think it overpowers your dress (what I can see of it) at all. ITA with jaybird12 in that if your dress is very simple, you can get away with a more elaborate hairdo.
Maybe just try a different stylist? I have had that happen to me and it is very awkward when you just don't feel comfortable with the person...

I had my hair trial today, and I'm just not sure what I think. First of all, the lady that did it I didn't gel with her very well. She was nice and she did a good job, but there was just something about her that made me uncomfortable. Second, I liked my hair once it was done, it looked just like what I had imagined but then I put my dress on when I got home and thought, huh, I don't think this works. I think it's actually too much, like it over powers the simplicity of the dress. SO I'm going to ask the hives advice. What do you think?
