Hi bees,

I'm kind of upset. Last night I went for my hair trial. I'm using my sister's salon, since I don't really have a stylist that I go to for my hair, I just kind of bounce around from place to place.

anyways, I went in, and told them that I wanted natural loose wavy curls a la Kate middleton, at the end of my hair. I have extensions, but didn't have them measured/cut for placement last night.

So the girl starts by telling me that she doesn't like those big loose wavy curls, and begins to curl my hair in very small sections, and the curls are very spiral-y. I tell her multiple times that that's not what I'm interested in, and eventually pull out the pictures (again) of what I want.

She then says "well, fine, I'll show you how to get those curls) and begins curling the other side of my head more to my satisfaction. HOWEVER, she's still curling it way up at the scalp, when I specifically (and multiple times) told her I wanted the curls just at the ENDs of my hair, and no volume at the top of my head.

So, she gets done curling my hair, and sweeps it to the side because I'd told her that I want to wear it down. She tells me that I just can't wear it down because it will take away from the front of my strapless dress, my necklace that I'm wearing, and the back of my dress. She said "What's the point of getting a strapless dress if you're just going to wear your hair down?" (umm...I bought a strapless dress because I WANT to wear my hair down!!)

anyways, I took pictures, but WB won't let me upload from my phone. So, now I don't know what to do. I'm upset, and don't like the way they styled my hair. I have an appointment on the 3rd to go back and try again with my entensions, since I guess they make all the differece in the world.

But they didn't really listen to a word I said about how I wanted my hair styled. I'm afraid that I'm going to end up with a hair style that I don't like on my wedding day. And looking at the pics I took last night, I don't like what they did.

Arg. Sorry this is long. that's my first official long rant on the bee.

Find a new stylist!!!  ASAP! lol. This is your wedding not hers!  I hate stylists who tell you what they think your hair should look like.  Your the customer and should get what you want.  Especially for your wedding! 

Awww I agree. Go with someone else. If you think someone else from the same salon would be okay, try that. If not and you'd rather go someplace else, look into it. Maybe beforehand just to make you feel better you can talk to your potential new stylist, explain what you want, and ask if they have any samples of hair they've done similar to what you're looking for?

I'm a little worried about the same thing. FI's family only ever sees up-dos, but I want my hair down...looser curls and romantic. His aunt is doing my hair and I'm sure she'll be great, but you always just wonder. When you involve friends and family you feel bad IF you don't like something!

It's your wedding day, so don't feel bad about doing what you need to do to feel beautiful.

Thanks ladies. I'm not sure what to do from here. I sent my sister a message. She's been pretty good at communicating what I don't seem to be able to. We'll see what she says.

I'm so non-confrontational, and I would feel so bad calling and canceling everything with this salon (and that's even if I can find someone else with 2 weeks notice.)

I'm just so bummed. Everything had gone so smoothly until now, and of all the things to get upset over, it would be hair, which I usually don't really care about!
