So the other day I finally bought a new clipless curling iron (wand?), replacing my ancient $2 thrift store model.
Yesterday I had the time to go all out with my hair (it’s naturally stick-stright, and lives in either twin braided pigtails or a ponytail).
Mostly, I just wanted to see my FI’s reaction to a curly half-up/half-down:
Fiance absolutely loved it: he thought it looked extra-special, but still “me”.
I’d appreciate any input from the Hive: I definitely think bigger, looser curls. And I need a better shine/end repair product.

I would agree you should have bigger curls, but I do like it also. I think I woul want my hair similar to yours too 8] And I’m glad your Fiance like it too!

Would you consider curling the top too?

@ItsDestiny: thanks! That was the best part: Fiance thought it was really sexy, what a big releif.
@Jamcnair: no, I don’t think so. I think I would rather have the curls start 1/2 or 1/3 of the way down, and be looser/larger so that the diiference isn’t so dramatic.
This is my current inspiration photo.
@hatmanandbobbin: thanks *blush*

Glad your Fiance liked your hair! I wanted my Fiance to see my hair so bad, but he refused. He wants to be surprised.
I would also say bigger, looser curls. I don’t know if you planned on this or not, but may I also suggest a floral or decorated clip instead of the clear clip? As I said, I don’t know if that is what you plan, but I think that would look amazing 🙂 Good luck!

@megz06: Oh no, that stinks. I didn’t actually tell my Fiance this was my wedding hair, just showed up with it all done up.
Agreed: bigger, looser curls is a must.
And the clip was the only thing I had. I’m thinking maybe a bobby pin or something invisible/hidden: as I’m planning on wearing a flower headband and no veil.
Truth is: I’m 98% sure I’m going to get my hair done professionally. I just really wanted to try out the approximate style to see if my Fiance liked the look on me.

I have a small barrel curling iron that gives me similar curls, I like how it looks after I brush it out.. kinda gives it a Taylor Swift-like wave. You should try it! But your hair looks lovely, I would just maybe tease the top to give it a little more volume, then I think your look would be very polished.
