So I always thought that I would do either wavy or curly hair for the wedding day. My hair in naturally frizzy, relatively undefined waves. So this is my inspiration picture:
Then my fiance made a comment how he loves my hair that one time I got it styled straight (with body). It wouldn’t be pin straight, it would flip/curl a little at the ends. Sort of like these:
I feel as though the straight hair might be the safer bet because I know both my FI and I will love it! But I sort of think the straight hair looks a little too casual? I’m having a more classic/traditional wedding.
My dress for reference (my hair ends before the neckline starts):
My hair trial is tomorrow (and it isn’t really in the budget to do more than one trial), and now I don’t know what style I want her to do. Also I’m sort of thinking having the straight style done isn’t really worth $85 (which is the best price I can find in my area for a stylist to come to the hotel day of). But I’m also worried that the beach waves might look messy toward the end of the night. Thoughts?

You can jazz up the hair do with a hair comb or barrette. Both looks would look lovely, do whatever you think will work best with your hair.

I do plan to wear some sort of hair piece to spice things up. I think I’m leaning a little bit more toward the straighter style because it seems more simplistic, and I have a pretty simple style.

@peabee: I think if your FI prefers it straighter perhaps you could have it straighter but with more volume/body but with a slight curl. If you buy a comb you could put that in the side but I think he will love anything as long as your happy. I keep asking my other half how he wants to see my hair and he just replies by saying I know you will look beautiful regardless. Loving your dress BTW.

If your hair is naturally frizzy, I think you will have more success in achieving the straighter, sleeker look.

I guess I could always to a more defined curl too. I just feel so iffy about doing curly or wavy hair because it’s what my hair is like on the daily and it’s not fabulous. I’m sure it would be much different when my hair is done professionally.
My FI doesn’t seem like to tight curls or curls/waves that start to high on the head (which I actually like).
But, I’m still worried that straight hair is too boring/ not formal enough. 😛

I would go with a nice loose wave. My dress is similar and I am also wearing my hair down. I went for my trial this weekend and I liked the outcome.

@peabee: Do what you want! The great thing about simpler hair means you can have more exciting accessories. With the straight hair, you could have a comb or a tiara to fancy it up. I think it will look amazing either way! Good luck!
