Non-professional, clip-in hair extensions are usually pretty obvious. There are actually hair pieces that would accomplish what you're looking for - the big bun. I've seen pieces like that at the mall (not that I'm recommending you buy hair at a kiosk). You might want to look for this specific type instead of clip-ins, because if you pull the clip ins back they way you would for a bun, you are most likely going to see the clips.
I got clip-in extensions for the wedding (I call them my rat tails). They look totally normal. I wouldn't get the Jessica Simpson ones -- they're really expensive and it's just one piece. I went to a beauty supply store and got 18" ones (7 pieces) for $80. When you pull it back, you just have to make sure that you position your normal hair over top so that the clips aren't showing. But it'll totally work.
i bought the Jessica Simpson Hairdo and I LOVE IT! If you're buying a synthetic one you can't curl it or else you'll burn it. I don't think you can do a low bun though. I would try getting actual extensions if you want to pull it back and do a low bun. Jessica Simpson does have a real hair one but it's significantly more.
my sister-in-law used one for her wedding, and it looked fabulous in a half-up style. it will look good as long as it's well-blended with the real hair - that takes a skilled stylist. the jessica simpson line also offers an up-do Hairdo in addition to the long extensions - but just be sure to order a color wheel and get the right color.
I LOVE this hair piece.... you actually need to wear a new one the day of your wedding, but buy one to try before. I actually talk about it here:

You definitely need to order the color wheel to get the right color.. good luck!

Has anyone actually used the hairdo by Jessica Simpson? I have shorter hair (chin length) and would like to be able to do something with it when it comes time to the wedding, which is in 2 weeks. I have not had a hair trial and am curious what I'm going to do with my hair.
I would ulitmately like to pull it all back in low ponytail and then use the hairdo piece to make it look like a bun or something. Would this even work.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
