Hi Bees-

Did you have your hair/make-up done professionally for your engagement session? We have like three photos of us in the two years we have been together so I really want these to turn out well but I'm just wondering if this is overkill and an unnecessary expense. I'm already planning to do a hair/make-up trial the day of my boudoir session so really this would just be for the photos.

Any thoughts? Thank you!

I'm not really having my hair and makeup done for the purpose of the engagement session, but rather having my trial on the same day (like you).

I didn't do either, but i don't think it would have hurt to have my makeup done professionally. I didn't want my hair to look too "done" and i managed that myself just fine. I should have at least stayed on top of doing lipstick throughout the 3 hours!

I straightened my hair and when I went to get my make up done I asked the hair dresser from the salon to add a bit of volume to my hair. They were glad to help me and did it for free...The pictures came out great! I definetly recommend at least get makeup done! Good luck!!

I did my hair and make-up myself for the engagement photo's. I considered paying to get them done but I was on a tight budget at that time. And, it was sooo early in the morning that I'm not sure anyone would wanna get up so do the hair and make-up lol. But I think it turned out fine. I look natural, like me, as opposed to how I'll look on my wedding day.
