Unfortunately I'm not going to be much help in that department. I can't even find a place I like to cut my hair! Hopefully some of the other bees can lend a recommendation...
I actually go to luxe regularly; I love the work they do and I find them to be reasonable priced. The key is to ask for a junior stylist. I go to Mary Reddy and I think she does an excellent job. She is one of the stylists I've hired for wedding hair and she did my trial for free (Though I did tip her $30). I've been to Planet Laboratories, Matthew Morris and El Salon; out of all of these great places, I like Mary/Luxe the best. Good luck!
Thanks for the tip on Mary, ErinMarieMack! I think I'm going to go with Luxe. I looked into other places, and it turns out Luxe is *by far* the least expensive makeup I've found! I've never had pro makeup done before, I think I just didn't know enough about how much it typically costs. Since their hair prices are very good, I'm happy to go with a place I already like and trust (I've had my hair done there by Heather -- she fixed a massive disaster of a haircut for me!). Caitlanc, I definitely recommend them for haircuts if you need a regular place. They're in LoDo.
I go to Sabrina at Matthew Morris salon and I absolutely LOVE her! Several of my coworkers (and one of their moms!) go to her now as well. I would highly recommend her as your regular stylist. MM can be a little on the pricey side though, so it probably doesn't help with the cost issue :-(
I'm having my hair and makeup done at Aveda Academy, on Market Street. The price varies depending on the person, but is around $35-$45 (I think updoes are $70 or so). This is differen than Aveda Institute, on 16th St Mall---the institute is people who are still training, and is super cheap. The Academy is people who are already licensed and have several years experience, but decided to come back for more training. A very budget-friendly option.....
I wanted to come back and talk about my wedding hair and makeup. Sherry at Luxe did both, and she was AMAZING. I'd never looked or felt more beautiful! I'd definitely recommend Sherry to anyone looking for a sensibly priced makeup artist or hair stylist -- she's not cheap, but she's not crazy expensive either given the other options I looked at.
Does anyone know of people who would travel to the Winter Park area for hair/make up?
Do you mind if I ask what the cost of makeup or hair is at Luxe?

Does anyone have a suggestion for a place to get hair and makeup done in the Denver area? I'm looking into having my mom's favorite salon, Luxe, do mine, but they are fairly pricey and I would like to investigate other options as well (especially for my bridesmaids' sake!).
