First, very pretty! I agree, I would make it flatter on top. It just struck me as odd when I looked at your first picture (before reading your comment about it).
As for makeup, looks good! I really like your eyes. I might consider going with a slightly deeper tone on the lips (I feel your lips look pretty nude in the restaurant picture). But i'm also not a "pink lips" girl, so don't change your lipstick just based on my suggestion haha
@MissShork: Haha yeah, the lips thing is because I ended up wiping it all off when I wiped my mouth. It looked much better before hand :P
@ceamoste: Ok, yah, your lips look really great in the first picture! (and this is coming from a "not pink lips" gal haha). As long you reapply gloss for pictures, that should be fine.
A poof is very easy to play down. Just tell your stylist you want it more flat, less dramatic. It's not something I would stress about and could even be a quick fix with some bobby pins.
Oh I think that your makeup looks absolutely perfect, I wouldn't change anything there. I also think that the top should be a little flatter and I think that it would look more like your inspiration picture if the curls were a little lower on your neck and a little looser as well. You're definitely on the right track though!
I actually agree with you, I would flatten the poof a little regardless of your wedding theme :) The make up is very soft and natural which I like!
I think your hairstylist did make the hair style too "harsh". Your inspiration pic is very loose and "messy/sexy", whereas your hair style is very tight and structured and really doesn't capture the essence of the inspiration pic. I think this is because your hairstylist lacks the talent to do the loose hairstyle. I suggest finding someone else because you have great hair and lots of it and you should be able to have the inspiration pic recreated for you.
It looks beautiful! I think having some loose curls on the sides like in the inspiration pic would soften it up a lot and make the poof less severe.

Hey ladies! I just had my trial today and I am so excited!
These were my inspiration pictures:
And here's how it turned out:
The only thing I'm worried about is the 'poof' - it's got a very retro feel, and while I think it looks great there is absolutely nothing about either me or our wedding that is retro. Our theme is more of a simple, romantic feel, and I feel this is harsh.
What do you think? Am I overreacting?
