I just tried this stuff and it was great! http://www.target.com/LOr%C3%A9al-Elnett-StrongHold-Hairspray-11-0/dp/B001DJ2V0E
sarahlynne - they used something on my trials that felt really natural - maybe i'll call them up and ask.
I second the Elnet! It used to be available only in Europe. It is awesome stuff.
I use Aquage, my hairstylist suggested it and I love it! It holds my hair in place but doesn't make it heavy.
I use the good ol TreSemme hairspray...the bottle with the green writing on it...only costs about $3.50 or so...I love it.
I like wearing a French Twist.
Use a very lightweight gel mist to smooth your hair into place.
Softer than Helmet Head.
sounds like elnet is getting lots of votes.
greta ehm: what's a gel mist? (sorry for stupid questions, i'm typically a wash and go girl)
I have Loreal Elnett too!! I love that stuff...its $14 @ target, kinda a lot of hair spray, but it works and its a huge bottle!!
Wow, glad to hear all the kudos to Elnet, I saw it at the store the other day and was considering purchasing it, but wasn't sure if the $14 pricetag would live up to its' name; which is still a low price compared to salon products (purchased at the salon, anyway).
My friend/hairstylist uses Dove Hairspray which worked out awesome on my wedding day. She said that she's tried all different brands, but likes the hold that Dove has. It holds style, but doesn't feel sticky or heavy.

i'm going to be switching from a down do to an up do midway through the evening. i'm doing the updo myself (it's a simple french twist). any suggestions for good hairspray that doesn't create a helmet at the same time?
