i'm wearing my hair natural for my wedding as i always do but had the hardest time finding inspiration...i finally decided on something that i love but i'm wondering how many of you are also going natural and what style you chose?

for those of you who aren't natural i don't want to leave anyone else so what's been your hair inspiration?

    Meelahj,

I am probably in the same boar because I have locs, so I am looking for inspiration. I have been looking at a few websites of natural hair salons here in the NY area and looking at styles on their sites.

Ahhh, natural hair is beautiful - with a beautiful flower in your hair! :)

We're having a destination wedding in my mother's country, Costa Rica, and we plan to do a fun group activity - like ziplining or white water rafting - the day before the wedding to get folks to bond. The problem is that the activity is going to seriously to jack up my hair. So I don't know if we should schedule the group activity for the day after the wedding (and skip the pre-wedding bonding) or bring my hair stylist down to Costa Rica with me (he's ok; not great). Or just do my hair myself (i.e., with lots of products, a great curling iron & blow dryer, and one of those hair clip-wig pieces!).  Using one of the stylists down there is not an option since I need personal experience with a stylist before I'll trust him/her with my hair on the BIG DAY!  What do you all think?

Yes! another Natural haired bride! I'm a big supporter of natural hair, I've been natural since 2004 :) In August I decided to loc my hair with my Aug 2009 wedding in mind. I plan to do something simple, (if my hair is long enough my then..lol) just a side bun with a white flower hair clip. I think it will look classy and still stickin to my natural girl roots. Good luck with urs! There are so many styles out there for natural hair. It will look beautiful!!

I'm also leaving my hair natural. I have a round afro. Have any of you seen pictures of a bride wearing a veil with an afro? Or have ideas on how it should look? Thanks!

I think that you will be oky with a single flower in your hair.  It would be beautiful.

If my hair was long enough I would definitely go for the single flower look -- I think it's beautiful! But my locs are in layers so I'm not sure if it would all be long enough to pull into a bun. *sigh* ;)

So I am doing something like this...the flower will be different and I will have micro braids instead of the kinky twists. I want something simple that I can do myself b/c I doubt there will be anyone who can do my hair at the resort where we will be getting married.

Thanks ladies...I really wanted to let my 'fro fly free at my wedding but I know with all of that saltwater and stuff in Jamaica that was an iffy prospect. With braids I know I can do something simple that will hopefully look nice in photos.

@JA: what if you do one of Jill Scott's hairstyles?  I LOVE her hair!! I wear a perm so these are definitely not options for me!! I agree with you though on the braids, you can definitely make it look astounding in pictures.

My issue is that my hair is so heavy that the afro won't "pouf" all the way around...LOL. Now it forms a natural part in the middle whenever I try to fluff it out. When it was shorter I could get a rounder fro...now it takes a LOT of work to get the right affect. If it was still the below length I would just corn row the front and slap a flower and that sucker and roll =)
