Hi Bluewonder
Depending on the hairpiece I see no reason why you couldn't wear both at the same time. If you felt that was too much the feather piece could be easily tucked in your hair, in place of the long veil, after the ceremony. I agree about the long veil they are so elegant - I get so excited when I get an order for a Chapel or Cathedral length veil.
If you would like to see what my studio has to offer look at www.artisticveil.com for veils and www.weddingwire.com Tampa, FL area under Dress & Attire for Feather, Flower and or Shell hair ornaments. I also offer various ways to attach each piece depending on how it will be worn.
If you see anything you are interested in contact me and I will be happy to discuss the possibilities.
Sorry I clicked submit too soon
I love your dress - perfect for a long veil! Also you can add a bit of french veiling so that it won't cover your eyes - I like the way it was done in the photo of the large feather flower.

Hey there everyone :)
I'm not sure what to do with my hair and what to do for a veil.
I like feather or possibly flower/feather headpieces, and KINDA like birdcage veils although I like them better when they aren't covering the eyes.
BUT when I tried on my wedding dress, they put a floor-length, one-tiered rhinestone scattered veil on me and I swooned.
I wouldn't want to wear the veil all night anyway.
I am thinking of a loose, low, slightly-off-to-the-side, wavy haired bun (if that makes any sense) with maybe a flower/feather hairpiece above it. Do you think that I could wear the long veil WITH that kind of hairpiece for the ceremony and then take off the veil for the reception? Somehow I think that might be too busy or the veil might screw up my hair. So I guess another option is skipping the long veil and doing a flower/birdcage veil combo dealio that way I can wear it all night. Not sure!
I will attach some pictures: of my dress, of hairstyles I like, the flower idea...oh yes and I will mention I have like just past the shoulders, not very thick hair. I would also consider wearing it down even though it isn't thick.
If I do a traditional veil, I like wearing it kind of on top of the head rather than low.
Any advice would be great! :D Type of veil, hair up or down, etc...
