I am getting married in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado - 3 hours from my house (about 1.5 from Denver).

I was planning on doing my own hair 1) to save money 2) location (my girl is 3 hours away).  My FI said I should just get someone to do my hair, because it's the one day I'll want it to look good.  So, when I got my hair cut this week my hair stylist said she will come to the ranch and do my hair for $65 (not bad) BUT $1 a mile.  That's like $150 each way!! Too much money to get my hair done (but she said she'll work a cost out).  There are a few hair salons in the Winter Park area, but I've never been to them, and I'm not sure I'd want to drive 3 hours & pay $60ish for a hair trial.  Maybe I could still do my own hair (though it might be too stressful).  I pretty much never do my hair because I'm too lazy to get up early each morning, so I'm a little nervous about that aspect even if I practice.

What would you do?  Any locals know of good hair salons in the Winter Park area? This is the one thing I'm actually stressing about! lol.

Here's a picture of what I'm going for:

I would say since the style you are going for isn't too fussy, do it yourself. If your hair is long, you can put it up damp in velcro rollers the night before, let your hair down and shake the curls out in the a.m., and it would give you that effortless wavy sexy hairstyle. Rollers are the best! even though they might not seem to be, since no one uses anything but hot tools now days. lol But I would at least give it a try, and if it works out then you could do that for your wedding day. :)

I second the DIY method. Definitely do some practice runs before hand but you should be fine! I DIY'd my hair for my wedding and do not regret it at all.
