I am getting married on halloween, and the bridesmaids are wearing eggplant with black sashes. Im wearing Diamond White. We are having a masquerade, with Jack and Sally cake topper. The venue is very elegant and fancy. The groom feels like it is not “Halloweenie” enough, and keeps trying to add Orange to the color scheme. PLEASE HELP. I want to keep it classy…and avoid his tacky suggestions, by incorporating oranges into the bouquets, please post suggestions….im the WORST bride to be, and i am very indecisive!!

I love the idea of a Jack & Sally cake topper! Maybe it’s just me, but your bouquets should be however YOU want them… you’re the bride after all! Can’t you just tell him something like “I’ll have to think about that, thanks for the suggestion. I’m really glad to see you getting so involved in the wedding planning!” and then just do whatever you planned on doing in the first place without bringing it up again? I dunno.. that would totally work with my fiance. 🙂

I also think you could pull orange off in a really classy, NOT tacky way! If it was subtley in there… I’m not right on halloween, but I’m definitely incorporating a lot of orange into my color scheme, because I love how fall it feels!

Thankyou to all for your suggestions. He doesnt really want any part of the floral planning…and doesnt seem to care, but I feel bad that he doesnt love our wedding, and feels that its missing the halloween feel, ….so im trying to change up some things to make it better for him. Its just not very easy…lol

Originally, we were going to do more Halloween than we ended up doing. Here’s some inspiration I gathered:
I think using cadelabras or branches as centerpieces is very Halloween. Black feathers, dark colored flowers (black magic roses, Karma chocolate dahlias, deep purple nicotiana, etc). Come up with creative table numbers (we’re using horror movie posters).
There’s a lot you can do thats very Halloween, but still classy. Try lots of different search terms on Google, you’ll find stuff.

We’re getting married on Oct. 29th and I adore Halloween. Our colors are eggplant purple (dresses) and burnt orange. All of us will be carrying orange flowers and I even went so far as to have my shows dyed to match my flowers!
I’m having small hints of halloween scattered throughout the venue. Just like you, I want it to be classy, not tacky. This was my inspiration board. Hope it helps.

Someone above posted a picture of a Halloween theme “candy buffet”, that could be a the perfect thing to tie in Halloween with your wedding! Or make favors that are Halloweeny.
My fiance and I are getting married on the 30th because that was the date that was open for our church and reception site, but we’re probably going to be having a Halloween candy buffet to tie in Halloween just for fun! And many of our guests will have small children so it will be like a second trick-or-treat for them!
