    Hey Hive...

Just looking for suggestions for Halloween Costumes for Couples. (Cant believe Halloween is about a month away!!!)  We are trying to think of a more creative costume than the typical "ball & chain", "salt & pepper"  & "Wilma & Fred" costumes (not that there is anything wrong with those, they're adorable).  Any Suggestions would be helpful!!  I'd also love to see pictures of any cute costumes if anyone wants to share them with the Hive!!

    Thanks!! Tongue out

    A few that we've done:

Dog the Bounty Hunter and Beth

Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe (might not work for Boston though)

Columbia and Eddie from the Rocky Horror Picture Show (you could also do Magenta/Riff Raff or Brad/Janet)

There's probably going to be a lot of Bill and Sookies this year but that's another idea.

We're going out with my sister and her boyfriend this year and doing a group costume for once - I am so excited :o)

We did the Justin Timberlake D**k in a box and the girl with the red robe on (Maya Rudolph. I was worried no one would get it, but EVERYone got it and thought it was hilarious.

I did M&M out of felt one year.  Cut holes for our eyes and enlarged the white m for the center.  He was yellow (the one w/ the nut) and I was green (the one with the eye lashes).  Of course, I made a red one  too.  We stuck our arms out openings that I left.

There were kids @ the Halloween party we went to and they loved it!  Ironically, the next year when we did Dr. Suess' Thing One and Thing Two (red sweat shirts, blue metallic wigs, felt with black puffy paint for the numbers), the dids didn't know what we were.

At one point, I wanted to do Lance Armstrong & Sheryl Crow, but that's now dated.

@HugsKisses: it's an easy costume too.  I just got the generic MM costume (the white dress) and FI wore baseball pants and I made the number for a blank jersey that he already had.  Add yankee hat, and done.

We're toying with the idea of going as santa and elf, (I'd be santa).

    other ideas:

    sailor and uso girl

    alice and the mad hatter

    roger rabbit and jessica rabit

little red ridding hood and the big bad wolf.

i feel totally silly for asking this but who are Bill and Sookie?  Have I been living under a rock?

TRUE BLOOD!!! Bill and Sookie are the main characters.  Such a great show- if you're not put off by scary vampires then you must go rent Season 1 immediately! :)

@ Meowkers - Bill and Sookie from True Blood.

We've gone as Bonnie and Clyde before if that helps.

We're tossing around being insane clowns, gladiator/goddess, and rock stars (don't know why but I really want to dress like Freddie Mercury.  I'm trying to convince him to dress like David Bowie.)

Oh, and on a side note, I bet there will be a lot of Jon and Kates out there.  I would have a blast wearing that wig!

haha thanks for filling me in ladies.  Yeah I'm just not at all into the teen vampire thing.  I did all that with Buffy the Vampire Slayer so I'm just way over it.  But yeah all those vampire shows/movies are really big right now.

We went last year as Gilligan and MaryAnn.  I thought people wouldn't get it and they did.  It was fun.

I have our idea for this year but not sure if people will get it.

Kayne West and Taylor Swift... I'm a blonde and thought about wearing a sparkly dress and making a tropy.  Then he can paint his face and wear black clothing and sunglasses like Kayne did that night.

What do you think?  Do you think people will get it?

You guys all have great ideas, thanks so much!!! A friend of mine and her boyfriend are doing Johnny Castle and Baby from DD'ing... I have a feeling that will be pretty popular, along with Bella and Edward/Jacob, Sookie & Bill...

I really like the idea of going as Bonnie & Clyde, thats a def possibility! I LOVE the idea of Alice and the Mad Hatter, I was searching for those costumes online and some of them get VERY pricey!!

my friends went as ghost busters last year and that was a huge hit.

naughty school girl and a priest

    dorthy and the scarecrow/tinma/cowardly lion

We are thinking of going as a Zombie Bride and Groom. We're just going to go to Goodwill and get him an old suit and me an white dress. Then we'll zombie-fy ourselves.

I think there will be a ton of Jon and Kate's, but all the Jon's will be wearing head to toe Ed Hardy Designs and be overweight and Kate will have $$$ all over here with 8 babydolls taped to her and crazy hair... lol actually now thats not a bad idea...jk

I think it would be fun to get a big group of people to do the Jon and Kate costume.  But instead of having 8 dolls for the kids, it might be fun to have 8 people wear matching t shirts that are numbered 1-8 or something.  That would take a big group effort but it would be hilarious if it was done right.

Ok I haven't read through all of these, but I think it would be so funny to go at Bret Michaels and a "Rock of Love" girl. A few years ago FI and I went as Flava Flav and a "Flavor of Love" girl. Here is a pic of us. I just found the most ridiculous dress I could.

I have always wanted to do Princess Buttercup and Wesley from The Princess Bride but we never have.  I dont know where to find the orange/red robe she wears and my DH always says he will look like Zorro.  Maybe this year we can do it :)

I agreed to do Princess Leia in the gold bikini if he wears this hideous Jabba the Hutt costume I saw on the Toys 'R Us website. No big plans for Halloween this year because we'll be busy watching football on Saturday.

Ooooo, I love Halloweeny!!!! (as my daughter says)

Last year, FI and I went as a 50's couple-it was easy to make and pull off. I made a poodle skirt out of felt, tied a scarf around my neck & ponytail, & put a letter jacket over my shoulders. I "colored" the side of a cheap pair of white canvas sneakers with fabric paint to look like saddle shoes. FI went as a greaser-jeans, black jacket (he happened to have a black leather one), white tshirt and greased back hair with a curly thing on his forehead-it was fun! We were lucky it was cold here because it has been known to be 80s+ at Hallloween here. Easy costume!

I love the Flava of Love costume.  That one is the best I've seen in awhile.  We are going as a gangster and a flapper.  Not too original but fun to pull off!

My future hubby and I went as Mac and PC last year...it was a huge hit and super cheap.  We've also been a monkey and a tree (he's much taller than I am and I literally spent the night hanging off him).  Good luck!

Now that I think about it, we've actually never done couple costumes! Last year I was Spidergirl and he was the King of Winterenmas (the video gamer's holiday); the year before I was Alice in Wonderland and he was Adam from Mythbusters...and the year before that I was Carmen Sandiego and he was Yoh Asakura from Shaman King.

You would think we would go more all out since we met at a Halloween party...

This year I think I have succeeded in talking him into a couple costume. We're going to be Eric and Ariel! He has dark hair and blue eyes; I have long red hair and she's my favorite princess. I'm also on scholarship for costuming, so awhile ago I made the pretty blue dress she wears during "Kiss the Girl."

I hope he remembers I talked him into this...;)

Last year a guy friend went as Matthew Mac. in Dazed and Confused {pink jeans and everything} and we went as Sr. Girls. We were awesome and got high fives all night. People totally got it, I was shocked.
