So I have narrowed it down to two dresses I’m absolutely in love with. The problem is, they’re pretty much exact opposites of each other. I’m having an October barn wedding, and everything is kind of casual and relaxed. One dress fits that perfectly. It’s simple – and it has pockets! It matches what the guys are going to be wearing (no tuxes). But the other one is much more “princess” than I ever thought I’d like. But there is something special about it too. I’m planning on going in for a third appointment soon to make the final decision. I’ve made a “pro and con” list for each dress – but they each have almost the same amount of pros and very few cons! Everyone who has seen them so far seems to like both of them for different reasons. So I’m stuck!
But that’s when I decided to turn to strangers on the internet! ;-D
Option one is plain taffeta with rouching around the bodice:
It’s simply, and I feel really pretty in it. But is it too “summery” for a late October wedding?
Option two is a corseted, lacy bodice with a fluffy waterfall of ruffles:
The back is kind of to die for. But is it too fancy for a barn?
So, lovely people – opinions?

I like both dresses in different ways, but I’m not digging the belt! It looks very busy and I think it would be more flattering without it!

Number one definitely suits your venue better, and honestly I think its more waist flattering. The second is pretty, but I can imagine it at a winter wedding or something.

When you’re the bride, nothing is ever too fancy. It sounds like you love #2, so do it!

I vote the first one! They both look awesome on you but it suits your venue perfectly 🙂

CityBearBride: Thanks! The ruffly one can go without the belt, but the taffeta one definitely needs something. The belt is much prettier in person – these pictures aren’t all that great for it.
sillygoat: Thank you! I’ve noticed that the ruffly one is flattering in person, but it doesn’t seem to translate 100% in photos, which is definitely super important.

lolot: Lol, that’s what my consultant said!
Songstress_7: My mom and the one bridesmaid I had with me definitely felt that way too. It’s a little more “country”.

I love the ruffled corset on you! It looks romantic and elegant. The only thing I would want to change about it would be to add straps(like on #1).

I like the second one, especially with the belt color. I don’t think its too fancy. Think of the awesome boot photos lifting the dress up a little with all those ruffles! The first one is a little low cut, too, but thats just my personal preference.

The first one is really nice!

fluffysweet: I hadn’t actually thought of adding straps to it at all!
netto614: I am definitely wearing boots, so that is a great point! I’m planning on taking a pair of brown boots with me to my next appointment, just to get the feel of it.
akirasan: Thank you! 🙂
(I’m skedaddling to bed, but please keep leaving feedback! I’m loving all of the suggestions! <3)

Dress one looks the best overall though I loved the back of dress 2. Dress 2 was just too busy for me.

I vote ruffles!!! It looks rustic to me!! Since it’s a barn wedding I personally would reduce the train and get rid of the belt. But it’s fabulous!!!

I love dress one! I wish I had seen it when I was dress shopping. However, with boots in a barn, I would pick dress 2. Its so feminine and romantic.

Dress one but not that belt!
