DO NOT BLEACH A WEDDING DRESS!!!! O_O Even if it isn’t ivpory. At most, I would only do some spot cleaning with a soft rag, a bit of watter, and a touch of dove soap. Depending on the material, you may end up with water stains. You might as wel just take it to the dry cleaner instead of risking it…

@MrsPaperFlowers:  You may find some luck in replacing the bleach with white vinegar if you’re worried.

And I agree with a PP – I would also avoid wetting the whole gown at once.
Spot cleaning would be fine I’m sure.

I hand washed my dress in the bathtub. Is your dress actually satin, or is it “satin” meaning polyester? I ask because my dress was also described as satin but it is polyester.

Hand washing didn’t damage it at all. I soaked the hem in water first, and then I attacked the gross areas with laundry soap. Then I rinsed the entire dress to avoid a water line stain. Worked like a charm. I didn’t have any icing stains on mine though….

@MrsPaperFlowers:  No colours, no. A beaded belt though! Beads came through fine.
