I had people who were really worried about this but didn't see a hint of it. We had the ribbon go the majority way down the stem and also sealed the bottoms of the stems with clear nail polish in order to prevent any sap/juice/whatever comes out the bottom of the stem from possibly staining the dress. I never felt like it was much of a threat.

so, i planned on using a hand tied bouquet, but my florist just informed me that one wrong swipe of the bouquet and WOOP you have a green stripe on your dress from the stems. has anyone else heard of this??
