So, after 3 hours of compiling multiple guest lists and address lists, I finally have my Excel spreadsheet all ready to be merged to make the address labels for our invitations.  Then, it occured to me - shoule I hand write them?  There are 150 of those babies!  We're not doing an inner envelope (which is traditionally handwritted).

So, what do you think Hive?  Are labels ok, or do they need to be hand addressed?

we did printed. personally, i feel like people (other than brides) don't pay attention to the envelopes, and they will just throw them away. that's a whole lot of time and hand cramps for nothing.

i think either is acceptable. handwritten is a nice touch, but not necessarily at the expense of your hand falling off (although kudos to you if you decide to do it). i did decide to handwrite mine, but i only had about 35 to send out.

I'd pop in a movie and handwrite them. It's a sizeable chore, but a label just feels a little too impersonal to me and informal. If you must go the printing route, at least print them directly to the envelope. A label seems too "you're on a giant mailing list."

The envelope will just be thrown away it's what is inside that counts!

    I say print the labels!

I think handwritten is best but if you don't have great handwriting or the task is too daunting I would print directly on the envelopes.  Labels just seems a little too impersonal.

I printed the wrap around labels on the same kind of paper as the envelopes are (linen) and I think that way is fine.  I used a fancy font and it looks really nice and presentable.  Personally if your choosing between clear lables to stick on or handwriting them I say handwrite becauce I hate getting wedding invites with just a clear label.  Though of course just my opinion, maybe no one else cares!!
