We had a no-host dinner two nights before the wedding and breakfast the morning after. Maybe go for desert after the rehearsal dinner. Or arrange a family lunch / other event the day before.

I know how you feel. My in-laws are arriving a few days before the wedding (to a country they’ve never been to before) and I’m already stressed about how to entertain them. I think dinner at my parents’ one night and maybe dinner out the next night?

Could you do something with them after the rd? For us, we had an Auf Ruf (Jewish Blessing) two nights before the wedding so we went to dinner and then went to Temple. The next day was the rehearsal brunch, where they were all invited, then we went to the hotel where we hung out the rest of the night, went to dinner, and came back to the hotel for champagne toasts. And the day after the wedding we had a brunch.
