This is a template for hanging paper lanterns to look like a chandelier but you could adapt the design to lanterns.
You would need a frame(whether wood or a metal hoop). Hang it from a central pint and hang the lanterns off the frame.. If you make a wood frame you can screw in eye hooks to hang the lanterns from.
You can definitely do this in a tent, hanging it from the central pole or from the cross beams of the frame.
Here is an example using a wood board frame.
this one has lights hung at various heights. I could see that being done with lanterns.
Oh thank you!! This is awesome. Exactly what I was thinking in my head but unable to construct :)

I really want to join 5 or 6 metal lanterns and hang them from the centre of my tent similar to a chandelier.
I was thinking of constructing some sort of X or open box with wood and put hooks into that so I could hang the lanterns from that.
Am I making this way more complicated then it needs to be? Will my tent even hold something of that weight?
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thanks!
