I think they were on a My Fair Wedding episode. That's where I heard about them. If that was them you can't go wrong with a Tutera endorsed vendor. There's also this thread on wb:
@katsupgirl: Thanks - I'll check out this thread. It's hard to make such a $$ decision based on sound clips, but you are right - everyone raves about them. It's also hard to trust that in the 10 minute interview they know us well enough to chose which among their many bands are best for us? So I'm trying to get feedback on which specific Hank Lane bands are the best.
Thanks again!
We used a Hank Lane band--not Rhythm Revue, we used Michael Hart--but they were INCREDIBLE!!! Seriously the best decision we made. The dance floor was packed all night and they were all so nice as well. DEFINITELY highly recommend them!
We used the Pete Saunders band from Hank Lane, and it was soooooo worth it. My family is not into dancing AT ALL, and our dance floor was packed! The band had to make multiple announcements at the end of the night that the reception was over, haha. I'd recommend Pete Saunders! :)
It's great to hear that you both loved Hank Lane....how did you decide on which band of Hank Lane's to use? I was only recommended Rhthym Revue & I can't find anyone who has used them. We're looking for a band that can play a variety of music - from classy jazz standards to even some hip hop / rap songs (the fiance must have this!) :-)
Did you choose or were you just told 1 that fit your requirements?
Also, did you negotiate the price? Thanks so much!!
Also, we were quoted $1250 a piece not including CH or ceremony - what do you guys think about that price?? Thanks so much!
we also used a hank lane band...ernest mills. they were fantastic and kept the party going and the dance floor packed. they were recommended to us based on our conversation about what we wanted. i highly recommend them!
when we were booking, we asked to hear others and they said michael hart would've been good too and the steve delisi band as well but they were both booked for the date. we heard one other that i didn't like as much and i don't remember the name. i think if you want to put your mind at ease, you can ask to hear samples of other bands.
@sagbride: They recommended which band would be good for us. We also got a discount because we had a Friday wedding...I don't remember the exact price, but it was less than $1250 per person for sure. Maybe around $1k? Michael Hart was amazing and played EVERYTHING you could imagine...from Lady Gaga and JayZ to Billy Joel and Oasis. I loved them. Like @marlie, I was also told that we could go with Ernest Mills and they would be a similar sound...I do remember them being slightly less expensive than Michael Hart.
Hi! I don't know if you are considering bands other than those of Hank Lane, but if so, I loved the band that played our wedding, Soul Revival. They were really versatile and sounded fabulous and reasonably priced. I know they are having a showcase tomorrow in midtown. It's worth checking out a band you can see live instead of just on a video IMO.
Best of luck!!

Sorry, there are no users yet.
My fiance & I met with Hank Lane today & were recommended this band. Has anyone heard of them or used them? They sounded amazing, but it's so hard to make a decision based on a few minutes of sound clips.
Does anyone have any advice? We're looking for a versatile band that can play the classics, but also some top 40 / hip hop, etc.
Thanks!!
