So last night on my way home from school I was getting off the interstate and all of a sudden I see this mangy dog with a limp running towards the interstate! I was so scared for this poor dog but I could not pull over to help it, it was 10 at night, a bad neighborhood and I learned to never trust a hurt dog who you don’t know. So I immediately called my mom bawling, I wanted to save her but couldn’t. I had my mom call the local humane society and they sent someone to go look for the dog. I cried the whole way home, I was so afraid I didn’t do enough to help something so helpless. It’s been a terrible week and adding this on top of it made my night terrible, I did not sleep well at all. All day I sat on the humane society’s website just hoping this dog’s picture would show up under the lost and found section. Well a little after 1 this afternoon her picture popped up!!!!! I can’t believe they actually found her 🙂 She is the most beautiful 5 month old Terrier mix. And guess what?!?! She already has a family ready to adopt her if her family doesn’t claim her. This made my whole week 100% better, we saved her life and now she will have a home and hopefully will never be on the streets again.
Lesson: Always do what you can, sometimes it may not be enough but sometimes you can save a life.

I am not the smartest with things like this. Bad area or not, I’d be out there trying to get that puppy! I am glad the story had a happy ending 🙂

@MrsPanda99: It makes me like you even more to know that the only time you throw logic out is for stray animals 🙂

I will do anything for animals…just not people. I’ve never met an animal I don’t like and I rarely meet a person I do like 😛

That’s wonderful! Thank you for looking our for our furry friends.
*Side Note (not trying to thread-jack but I really wanted to share the good news), I had a happy ending today: my baby (my male Siberian Husky) went in for x-rays today to check for arthritis and/or hip dysplasia since he’s almost 8 years old now. I picked him up a few minutes ago and the vet said he’s good to go; no signs of any issues in his back/hips. Hooray for my healthy fur-baby!
