I know that many of us have problems with our FMIL/MILs, but I know there are also a lot of good stories everyone has too that makes them excited to join/be a part of your FI/DH’s family. So post your fun, loving FMIL/MIL stories here!
I’ll go first; I love my FMIL. She reminds me a lot of my own mother, and is always, always, always there if I need to talk. Right now she seems like the only one really interested in the wedding stuff going on and having all her support has been great!

My FMIL took me in when I was 16 and that’s treated me like her own child ever since, right down to buying me a matching Santa sack as her own kids for Christmas. She still, to this day, buys my underwear. My FI often puts in requests with her 😉
no joke of a word, when I think of a mother I think of her. My future grandmother in law is also pretty darn awesome. She buys me presents for occasions such as ‘its Thursday!’, ‘thanks for dressing my sore’!! Ahaha.

- Wedding: July 2013 - The front lawn of our church
My husband’s ex never got over him and still tries to make our lives miserable. When we were dating, she would try to lie to his mom about me and suck up to her to try to get him back. MIL told her that she loved me and couldn’t be happier with her son’s choice.

I love my MIL! She has her own little quirks, but what mother doesn’t? 🙂 She’s super sweet, and we exchange emails from time to time with little silly updates about our day!

I love my FMIL, she is the sweetest. She has really made me feel at home, and is including me in the big family photo this year which makes me feel part of their family already! She is always quick to send me notes or emails when she’s thinking of me, which is nice.
I am a vegetarian (only one), and for every holiday we have attended there, she makes sure I have veggie options. We did brunch once and she made me special versions of what they were having without meat.
She gets me very thoughtful gifts for the holidays and birthdays, not just random things, things which I actually enjoy and love because she makes an effort to know about me.

My MIL is a complete doll. She’s in her 70’s, so she’s almost like a grandmother to me. She’s funny. She’s thoughtful. She’s a great baker. She treats me like one of the family, and always has. We came very close to losing her in the spring, and I am so glad we didn’t. I hope to enjoy her love and company for many years to come. God, she looked so beautiful on our wedding day!
