Yesterday, yet a new person described my baby as “So serious”. Each month since she was born, 3 months ago, someone has attributed this quality to her. Does this look like a serious baby to you?
Happy Mother’s Day MamaBees and Mama2Bees!

Well baby is smiling in that pic. I don’t see the baby out and about though, so maybe the baby is serious and we aren’t seeing a serious picture. But she’s very cute either way.

Goodness, she is beautiful!! What a stinkin’ cutieface.
For the record, I think “serious” babies just look terribly intelligent. 🙂 Perhaps next time someone says that, you should simply reply that she’s busy pondering the deepest questions of the universe, or crystallizing her plans for world peace. Happy Mother’s Day!

I have a serious baby too- don’t take it too personally- I just tell people “Well maybe she just doesn’t know what to think about you”

firstly what a beautiful baby – brightened my day! as far as people saying she is serious, maybe its want of a better word – like old soul. i see some babies that are very calm and i swear they are having deep thoughts and i wonder if they have old souls as they dont find it necessary to yap around like energized fluffy white dogs and being demanding – these babies i like because it reminds me that they are little people with working little brains, i wonder what they are thinking

My, word…good gracious she’s CUTE! 🙂
Maybe she’s just thinking about the person she’s looking at!LOL

ha… I don’t use the word serious for Warren – but he definitely makes you work for smiles. He’s pretty laid back and just so intent checking on the world. I usually tickle him when we are out in public so that he’ll show off his smile 🙂 But that’s only worked better in the past 2 months (he’s 9 mos old now).
Your daughter is precious!!

@KatyElle:@LittleMissBrassBand:@eloping:@MsMamaBear:@jilian: Thank you for your sweet compliments and encouraging comments. Of course, I posted the most smiling pic I could find. 🙂 I will try to remember that well-intentioned people may actually be saying she is ‘intelligent’ or an ‘old soul’ ‘trying to find a cure for cancer.’
@LpCutiPie: I, myself, need to lighten up about serious baby comments. Oh, the irony. 😀

Isn’t it weird how the most innocuous comments can offend you? Sometimes people ask if Addie is a boy or a girl (because she’s bald), and it never fails to make me slightly crabby at them. She wears pink like 90% of the time; how could you mistake her for a boy?!?!
Anyway, maybe she uses her “serious face” for public so she can save up all her cute and smiley faces for you at home. 🙂 Fwiw, I think she’s beautiful and sweet.

She is adorable! I’m told all the time my little guy looks confused. Serious, confused, doesn’t matter. They are all precious and too cute for words.

Stupid question, is she outside when people make the comments of her being “so serious”? My bestie had people say the same thing about her daughter, and it turned out to be a face she was making because it was sunny out. They got her sunglasses and she stopped making that face. LOL

oh my gosh. now that is an adorable baby!

Seriously cute, but that’s about all I can see… 🙂
People always talk about our little boy too. I’ve stopped correcting them because otherwise I’d get really annoyed. I guess it doesn’t help that we think that blues are totally appropriate for girls, because when we do correct people they are always like, “Well you dressed her in a boy color!” Yeah lady, but the blue top has a giant flower on it… Figure it out!

@Mrs. DG: Gah, DG, I totally get it!
We were out to eat this weekend, and a woman came up and commented on how cute Addie is and asked if she was a boy or girl. Even though she was wearing a pink shirt with ladybugs on it and a pink sweater, whatever, I was fine with that. It was after I told her that Addie was a girl, and she commented that “He looks just like his daddy!” and “He’s going to be a smart little fellow, isn’t he?” that I became really annoyed. C’mon, lady, you’ve run out of excuses.
