Happy New Year everyone! What are you up to tonight? I'm going to a ball (?! I know!!!). I have a strict anti-New Years rule but this is for DH's work, so I'm being forced into going. So I'm just about to do my toes, I did my nails last night, and I had my hair done this afternoon. DH's tux is hanging in the diningroom, and my stepson is on his way to his grandmother's for the night. Hope you all have a fun and safe night!!!
I'll just be chilling on the couch drinking champagne with DH.
@misskoala: Can we trade? I really don't want to go out. Sigh.
Tha ball sounds fun! We're going to a fancy dress dinner party at a friend's place. There should be about ten of us altogether. Cocktails, a delicious, many course meal, and champagne at midnight - what more can a girl ask for?
@bakerella: Jealous! I love getting dressed up like that and love seeing DH in his tux even more - boy does he look HOT in it! Can we see the dress you are wearing?
We are just staying home, pulling the matress out to the living room, lighting a fire, having some seafood and wine, and just going to enjoy our rare time alone. Last weekend before DH ventures back to work, so we have to make it count.
I'm on call for work so we will be having a casual night with friends, a few of which are pregnant so I won't feel so alone not being able to drink.

Tonight we've been invited to a couple of parties (one is a poker night and the other a costume party) but I have a feeling we're going to stay in and enjoy our first new year's in our new house! We're just not feeling enthused about going out so this might end up being a cozy night in.

Tks, we spent our new years in a similar way! We cooked and had a romantic meal and just had a low-key night. Our new years already passed since I'm back in Greece.

FI and I were invited to my coworker's party so I bought a fun shiny dress, only to find out it's going to be super casual. /sigh Maybe you guys can help me salvage it, I was thinking of putting on some leggings and a black cardigan?

After some unfortunate general winter sick feelings we'll be staying in tonight but that should be fun too! There's a big batch or chex mix and mocha punch with my name on it.
Here's the dress, don't have a photo of me in it, I'll post a photo once we get ready :) It's a black and white ball, so it's a floor length black dress. I got my hair done earlier today, he did sort of a low side pony with curls. Very simple. I have big black dangly earrings too.
And here's my nails, I did a combo of at home Shellac system and Sally Hansen nail strips. Hopefully it lasts a couple days. So far so good! Sorry for the gigantic photos!!! Woah!

@raccoon: Awww feel better! I've been battling a wicked cold this week, it finally abated this morning! I went to bed at 6:30 Thursday night!!!

@Aure: Even at super casual, I would still wear that. Who doesn't want to dress up for NYE if they are going out? THe cardigam will keep you warm. That dress is HOT!

@tksjewelry: Thanks! I got it on sale for $80, score!! There was another one I was looking at that I loved but it was $200 (marked down from $400) and it wasn't worth it for a few hours of wear. Plus this one leaves room for eating, lol!

FI and I bought NHL 12 to play along with Mario Party 8 (which we've had). He's searching for other games to download on the Wii as we speak. We got some goodies to snack on throughout the night. Our drink choice tonight is Three Olives Grape with Sprite. =) I'm excited.

@MissPumpkinPie: I'm a huge fan of the Lego games for Wii. Pirates of the Carribean is likely my favourite, but I also just started Harry Potter Years 5-7 and I'm enjoying it so far! Staying in and playing video games sounds perfect to me!!! DH doesn't like playing though, so my best friend comes over and we have Wii days, LOL!

@bakerella: We rarely play together so when we do, it's a lot of fun. I love playing board games on a night like tonight. Balderdash is one of my favorites, but it's so much fun with a ton of people.
I'm sitting on the couch with my mom! We're making us some toasted ravioli and taquitos and other junk/snack food and we're going to pig out and be lazy. lol

@MissPumpkinPie: Mmm, I love Three Olives! Best flavoured Vodkas ever! Try Pomegranate and tonic some time, I swear it tastes like Jell-O (in a good way)!
@Aure: It was FI's choice this time around since I picked a flavor last time we bough TO. We rarely drink so it's been awhile. Hahaha. I will make sure to give a try though. I love pomegranate!
@MissPumpkinPie: Ooh I love board games too. I got Quiddler (more of a card game than a board game) and Quelph for Christmas. I can hardly wait to try them out! I gave my stepson Guess Who for Christmas and it brought back fond memories playing with him this week :)
Okay, I've never had toasted ravioli. How is this different than regular ravioli?!
@bakerella: Well, I'd say sunshine and warm weather - but I think that only holds true if you're in the Southern Hemisphere!

@bakerella: Toasted ravioli started as a St. Louis thing! It's only about the most amazing thing ever! It's ravioli that has been breaded and deep-fried and you dip them in marinara.

@bakerella: I haven't played Guess Who in ages. I love Phase 10 as a card game, but once again, it's more fun when there's at least 4-5 players. My friends used to get so heated during games.

@zippylef: I was trying to convince FI to get cherry flavored tonight, but he wouldn't have it. Hah. He wanted to try the new cake flavor, but I was afraid it'd be too sweet and I'm not sure what to mix it with.

@zippylef: @MissPumpkinPie: I love the cherry, I usually get the giant bottle of it. My usual is a Three Olives Cherry and tonic. Mmm. I'll have to try it with Red Bull at some point.
@Aure: Ooo. It is so good with red bull. I had a guy buy me one at a bar in college one time and I was hooked after that.
@MissPumpkinPie: I've not seen the cake flavor. I've tried the Mountain Dew flavor one though. It's actually pretty good.
