Here's a little info about fetal heart rates, I think it's a bit early at this point to tell what your baby's typical heart rate is going to be since it changes a bunch over the first trimester. http://pregnancy.about.com/od/fetus/a/normal-fetal-heart-rate.htm
Our little girls heartbeat has been on the higher side so for us the old wives tale held true.
Congratulations! I agree, our baby's heartbeat has dropped as he/she grew over the first/second trimester.
Congratulations. The heart rate thing didn't work for us and studies have shown no correlation... but it's fun to think about :)

I was just shy of 12 weeks at my first ultrasound. Our baby's heartbeat was in the 180s. We're having a boy! So, it definitely did not stand true for us. His heartbeat has been hangin out in the 150s for the last few appointments. :)
Thank you ladies! As for feeling, i was feeling tired first, now i will a little bit sick to my stomach on some days, but not enough to throw up or anything, so i think i am pretty fortunate. I have been going for a lot of walks, so it is hwlping me not feeling as tired! super excited :)

Congrats! I had a high heart rate throughout, and just found out last week we're having a girl. Also true to the old wives tales, I'm carrying low and wide (aka not a big ol' pretty basketball, more like a ton of lumpy cheese-fat) and I swear the girl is stealing my "glow". Plus, the chinese gender predicter got it right, though they do have a 50/50 chance of that anyway ;)

From wedding planing, to happy baby news. Today was our first ultrasound. It did not sink in untill we saw the little one on the monitor - 8 weeks - due date December 5th. Exciting!
My baby had a rather high heart beat, i heard an "old wives tale" about high meaning its a girl and low meaning its a boy. Did it come true for anyone?
