Cool! Thank you so much for the input, I know a lot of people will appreciate it. I just made mine through Shutterfly, selecting the plainest, least "wedding book" or "collage-y" styles I could find, and it was about $33/book for 8x8, 32 page books, with lots of coupon codes used and such. Right now they have 50% off sale on some of their books too (of course i ordered mine the day BEFORE that sale...). I have not received my books yet - it will have taken about 9 days by the time I get them - but I have ordered from shutterfly before and was pleased with the quality. I will have to try MyPublisher sometime though - I am interested!
That's a really awesome Christmas gift idea, I'm sure your relatives will love it!
does MyPublisher offer a leather cover? Still trying to decide for christmas gift albums between blurb and shutterfly, and now maybe My Publisher.
I tried Shutterfly, and although it turned out great, I will probably be going with My Publisher for our next books. At least it was free with a coupon, so it was like a test-run in prep for wedding photos.
I just want to say a big, happy DITTO to everything the OP said. I'm very happy with my My Publisher photobooks! Get on their mailing lists for coupons! :)

I just want to give a thumbs up to My Publisher. The book I created on Sunday already arrived (it's Wednesday). I'm creating individual photobooks for a few relatives for Christmas and there just seemed to be so many choices out there for photobook companies. I consulted posts/threads here for the best company but everyone had pros and cons and I think I was more confused than ever. Even though I do some freelance graphic design on the side I had already spent so much time with editing work on my photos I just wanted something easy and didn't really want to think about the layout. I knew I wanted some full bleed pages and that was about it. Some may think My Publisher doesn't have many layouts/styles to choose from but for me it was just enough - I like consistency and clean lines. I was not interested in the collage look or giving my photos an angle or even the 'wedding book' look. I used medium resolution jpgs from my photog and I was pleased with the print quality. For my own album I may want an even higher quality and I will be willing to pay for it but for the moms who will be bringing this everywhere to show their friends, the price and quality was right. I had a B1G1 deal and after shipping my order was around $51 for two 28 page books with a linen die cut cover.
