I dont think a lot of girls get the "wow" feeling tv made up for us. We all want it, but sometimes the decision isn't that simple. Maybe you should try different styles. I was the exact same way. Nothing wowed me and I have a decent figure so most of the dresses looked nice. But I felt like I was seeing the same thing over and over again. Finally at store 14 (yes 14). I put on a dress and walked away. I got 2 blocks before I realized I couldnt go home without the receipt. Oh I was also set on a curvacious organza fit n flare/mermaid style and purchased a slinky, body hugging silk satin sheath.
Don't "settle". Dont give up. Looks like your in the same pickle as me. All those dresses look great on you. But it has to FEEL great to you also.
All those dresses look amazing on you! I think you are definitely going in the right direction. I didn't cry in my dress, but I just *knew* it was the one. Don't settle on something (even though you look crazy good in all the pics above), and keep trying on dresses until you feel absolutely stunning in the dress!
So funny that you picked sheath body hugging! I was talking to a friend of mine who also just happens to be a total wedding expert. And she told me to try for a silk or satin sheath. Would you mind telling me which dress you picked so i can see what you guys are talking about? I'm sooooooo clueless. And thanks again for your advice I can really relate!
That second dress I think qualifies as hot, FWIW.
Don't worry about getting all bent out of shape when you find a dress. As with all TLC shows, they find the huge personalities and play them up even more for SYTTD and all that nonsense. I didn't cry when I found my dress, I didn't get all emotional, I just didn't want to take it off (seriously, I walked around the store in it for a good while). Find one you enjoy wearing, that's the most important part, and go with it.
Although I will say, if you're having a hard time deciding, maybe it's worth going someplace new and letting the consultant pull all manner of stuff for you. Maybe what you think you like best isn't necessarily where you should be going.
@kim14410: If you choose to try any on, I would avoid empire waisted sheaths, where the wasitline is cut high and the rest of the dress hangs. On me, they look tent-ish because I'm small, but they wont hug anyones body. I bought pronovias puma.
heres a model picture:

Thank you! That seems to be everyones favorite, which is so funny because it was my least favcorite. it was so tight on the legs i could barely move (and i LOVE to dance) so i kinda ruled that one out but enjoyed the fit in the way that it looked. Plus it was really heavy. I like the lighter feel of a dress. My wedding is in August of next year so i'm going to need a beathable fabric that also isnt heavy!
I had a lot of issues finding the right dress. But, once I found it, I totally had the 'wow' factor MASPA is describing. Once you've found the dress, you know it. If you have doubts about a dress, don't get it because those doubts probably won't go away.
P.S. I love how you're holding the neckline inwards to make it look like a sweetheart. That is what I did with ALL the dresses I tried on. lol.
@TheLionQueen: Hahah I am a visual kinda girl... I need to see EXACTLY what it would look like if i were to spend the big dollars on it... Glad ui'm not the only one holding her neckline down in just about every picture :)
I definitely feel like you're going in the right direction with these dresses. Not sure what the brands are that you've been looking at, but have you looked at Enzoani dresses? Enzoani's Dabra is GORGEOUS. My gut is that you're looking for something with a more "WOW" skirt! I actually love #1, I just wish there were more happening on the skirt part. Don't worry, you're doing great!
@kim14410: Did you find a dress? We have the exact same taste in dresses! I tried on such similar dresses as you. In the end, for me it ended up being about shape and fit. I just knew when I tried mine on that I loved the fit. I felt different in the dress than I had in any other. Maybe a shape like this would be good for you as well? Here is my dress. The sample is too short....

I dont know about anyone else.. But i'm sure i cant be the only one having such a hard time finding a dress... I mean, you see on tv and you hear stories of these girls who say omg i knew it was the one and typicall tears and fanning of the faces are involved... But i've got to tell you.. I am not that kinda girl... I just cant imagine crying over myself looking SO GOOD in a dress... But at the same time.. i would take that reaction over what i'm having rigt now! I mean, i think i look good in the dresses, but i am just not like.. walking out of the dressing room and looking at myself, and saying WOW U LOOK HOT girlll... My fiance wants me too look hot. I mean duh.. But i want to, too.. I want to walk down that Isle and him him be like WOW... There would be nothing more amazing to me.. I'm going to try to attach some pics so while you guys answer this post let me know if you have a preference on my body type.. i'm open for suggestions! But i seem to be more comfortable in form fittting and sweetheart necklines :)

So anyways.. let me know if you guys are having the same issues..
