I’d make a phone call because you never know if they are having email issues.

My normal window for expecting an email response (before I start freaking out) is 2-4 days.

Yes, my florist is fairly unresponsive. I find people that are really artistic and wonderful often lack communication skills

Yes, in fact I had this problem just trying to book people before hiring them. I ended up getting a planner because I hated no one returning my calls. Everyone knows her, so she gets her calls returned. And she returns my calls. 😉

Is it possible that you can call and go over his head to a manager?  You need someone that will be responsible to answer your questions!

I feel your pain. Our venue has a bunch of exclusive vendors, and all of them have been consistently impossible to reach. I’ve just started making myself really annoying, figuring that they’re bound to eventually respond.

I definitely had this problem when we were in that limbo phase pf planning … still far out from the date, but after we signed the contracts.

I completely understand. You need to get your questions answered. But the way vendors see it, they’re focusing their attention to the upcoming clients they have in the next few months. I’m not saying it’s right, but that might help put things in perspective.

We had to harass some of our vendors to get questions answered in the limbo period. It was frustrating, but I think it’s very common. Just keep calling and e-mailing, and when you finally do get him/her on the phone, simply say, “I do apologize that I’ve been calling so much, but unfortunately, we need this question answered to move forward with getting our invitations printed. I appreciate you getting back to me. In the future, though, could you tell me the best way to get ahold of you in case we have to ask a question?”
