How much do you want to alter and specifically what? I altered a good amount of my dress. I changed the neckline to a sweetheart, made the back a deep V, removed the flowers that were on the hip of my dress and had the normal stuff done to it like hem, taken in, cups added, bustle. It turned out great!

@socalmeli: no it didnt. Originally (in the first picture) there was boning in the dress that they had to remove because I was having it made into a sweetheart. The dress fit me really well – the top did not slide down or anything like that when dancing

I just had my first fitting last Friday and I’m changing it to a sweetheart neckline and corset back. I’ll let you know how it turns out!

@PitBulLover: You look so pretty!!  Do you have a close-up of your hair from the back?

@socalmeli: I’m having my flower sash changed a bit.  I am having a hard time getting them to do it before my fittings, so I am kind of anxious about it.  Luckily that change is not that hard to reverse.  I could just put the original sash back on!  Do you have a pic of your dress?  The changes you described sound pretty standard and doable, at least in my non-expert opinion.  Does your alterations person have good reviews?

I understand completely! I ordered this dress…

but am planning on making it fit more like a fit n’ flair or soft mermaid by having it taken in through the hips. I’m also having the neckline altered just a bit so it’s more similar to this:

Will let you know how it goes and good luck! Make your dress whatever you want it to be!

@socalmeli:

I think the tulle is still really pretty…adds some dramatic flair! But I definitely think you made the right choice getting rid of the flowers. Have you picked a sash/belt yet? Good luck!
