I just ordered Casablanca’s 1975 yesterday (YAY), but I know already I want to change the straps so they are not speghitti straps and more lace. Has anyone done this? I would love to see any/all alterations.
Here is a picture of me with a piece of lace draped over the strap to give you an idea of what I am looking for.

@Sony_Vi: hey! I added cap sleeves and changed the deep V front to a sweetheart neck line. And I also added buttons going down the back. I LOVED my dress soo much!

I didn’t alter anything about my Casablanca (1995), but I like your idea about adding the lace to the straps… It looks gorgeous!! Do it!

Thanks ladies! That makes me feel so much better! I ordered the dress with the lace continued from the manufacturer. I am SO nervous to see how it turns out.
I would love to see how other bees have done this alteration too!
@libbylou222 – you looked beautiful!

I FINALLY just got married in my Casablanca 1975 gown with the altered straps that started this post. I can honestly say that this dress was PERFECT.
I had the straps altered by casablanca themselves to give the dress more of a vintage feel. I am selling the dress (size 6), which has been very minimally altered (just hemmed and straps shortened). Contact me for more info.
Below is our video done by the very talented Matt Wisniewski and the pictures are done by Redwave pictures in Madison, WI.
WATCH OUR VIDEO HERE! It really shows you how the dress moves and what it looks like outside of a salon.

Sony_Vi: if that is a size 12, are you interested in selling it?
