A week ago today, I attend an event in Dallas, TX called a Faux Wedding. It was the most amazing event I have been to and a great alternative to Bridal Shows.
Me and two of my bridesmaids attended the event. When we first walked in we were greeted with a goody bag and champagne. After the excitement of getting free champagne died down, I spotted a huge white chocolate fountain and I knew I HAD to try it, it was absolutely delicious. They had pretzels, marshmallows, strawberries and rice crispy treats to dip in it. It was then time to get another drink from the open bar, I had some type of blue martini that was absolutely delicious. There was also a live band playing the entire time as well.
Then, it was time for the Faux Ceremony to start. They had an outdoor area all set-up like a real wedding with a string quartet that played Somewhere Over the Rainbow as the "faux bride" walked down the aisle. There was an actually ceremony with bridesmaids and groomsmen. After the ceremony there was a cocktail hour where you could talk to vendors that had set-up the faux wedding.
We then proceeded on to the reception where there was a full sit-down meal, open bar, DJ, Cake and the whole nine yards. There were even fireworks afterwards. It was absolutely amazing!! The entire night was FREE!! I couldn’t believe it. I even caught the bouquet.
It was so much fun and I was just wondering if anyone else has ever been to something like this?

amp0166, the is the code for a nonbreaking space. There is a glitch in the code here that causes it to be inserted in place of the first space if you type two spaces (e.g., after a period). It perennially drives me nuts, too!

woah! That is so crazy! I’ve never heard of things like this but I think that would be the coolest way to advertise wedding services!

I’m really turned off by chocolate fountains … even with my love of chocolate, but this white chocolate fountain sounds really cool. I’ve never heard of a white chocolate one!
The event sounds amazing. I wish I knew of something like that here!

They have something similar here in Atlanta called the “Not” wedding. I’ve not been able to make it to one but I think they sound like a super idea!
