My husband's parents live here! It's a beautiful place with lots to do.
Another suggestion I would have for you is Charleston, SC. There's much more of a night life there...

hilton head is beautiful! but very family oriented - but its only about 25-30 minutes from Savannah so you could def check that out as well for nightlife and site seeing :)
Yes! It's great for a beach destination, we take relaxing girl trips there all the time. I live in Charleston so in my humble opinion nothing compares to it 
Check out Kiawah Island (basically Charleston). My grandparents have house out there and its very private. Much more secluded than most of the beaches and its a little more upscale in comparison to other Charleston beaches.
I lived there for a summer (actually on Daufuskie Island, right off the coast) and it was beautiful but to reiterate what the others said - very family friendly and chill. Great for a relaxing beach vacay, but maybe not if you want to do a lot of fun adult stuff.
I love Hilton Head! My family and I spend time there every summer, and it's the perfect beach destination. Not too hot, not too touristy with plenty of things to do.

OP, are you going to be going right after your wedding?
I agree with the above posters--Hilton Head is gorgeous, but I think Charleston and one of the beach towns nearby would be perfect for a honeymoon. We stayed on Seabrook (where The Notebook was filmed!) and ventured into Charleston at night.
My friend went and said it was the best place ever for a honeymoon if you are staying in the states. Charleston and the beach were both very romantic!

As someone who got married there, I'm a little biased, but I second PP's suggestions of Charleston!!! It's an amazing, beautiful place
