We have picked Secrets Maroma in Riviera Maya as our honeymoon destination. I called Apple Vacations for a quote in November and when I called again in December it had gone up $300! I’m hoping prices go down after the holidays but I don’t know the ins and outs of the airfare game.
Has anyone booked their honeymoon yet, or are you waiting?

Were getting married march 15 and just booked our honeymoon resort on cyber Monday I found an incredible deal (were talking almowt 50% off) at the all inclusive resort in punta cana we had looked at and I called the travel agent and she matched it!(if you want a good deal I’d also suggest picking 2 or 3 resortsyou are good with that way there’s more variety in terms of sales and deals) From all my reasearch it seems cheap carribian has the best prices and sales. I’d definitely sign up your email for their sale alerts and book then! Or do what we did and call your TA with the special so they can call the resort and price match. Always better to use a TA because you have someone to turn to. You book online and you’re usually on your own.

I have. We booked an all inclusive resort in Jamaica. The earlier you book the better the prices. I used Expedia.

@pinotgrigio: We booked ours almost a month ago. We also picked Mexico. We went through a travel agent though this time, it seemed to be a little cheaper, and more convient for us, since we are busy dealing with wedding details/decisions.

My flight and 1st hotel is booked. We went with Greece since it is Hurricane Season in the Caribbean during Aug/Sept. We really wanted to go all inclusive but I also wanted to honeymoon right after the wedding and was nervous the weather would be terrible (our luck)

No. We’re torn between 3 places and haven’t made our final decision yet.

We ended up booking Secrets Maroma a few days ago. I was paranoid about prices increasing. We got the cancel for any reason travel insurance, fingers crossed the weather works in our favor!

We are getting married in a campsite and our “honeymoon” is us camping for the following week! I’m super excited! The guy at the campground was surprised when I said we were tenting it. lol.

We’re taking a 2 day cruise out of Florida to the Bahamas, spending 3 days there, then 2 day cruise back. I’m not completely sure how it was booked, as FI planned it all.

Just booked two weeks in heaven! We’re going to the Maldives, so excited! The prices were increasing so we didn’t want to wait any longer.

We haven’t booked yet. I have pretty limited vacation time, so we’re planning to do a “mini-moon” right after the wedding, and my FI is surprising me with the destination. Then, sometime next year we’re hoping to go on a wine tour in Italy.

We booked Iberosatr Grand Hotel Bavaro in the Dominican for Sept 9 for 1 week.
After the stress of planning I need to relax on a beach.
We originally wanted Paris and London but FI promised to take me for my birthday next year. So we decided on a relaxing honeymoon.

I booked a flight to Spain and we’ll be there for 4 days then taking a Norewegian Cruise out of spain that will go to Naples, Rome, Florence and Cannes. I booked way far in advance because FI said he didn’t know if we’d have enough money to go on a honeymoon. I booked it before anything else and said it will be a priority. The cruise line also lets you make monthly payments towards it and you can book excursions along the way.

pinotgrigio: We just booked our honeymoon! In Kauai, Hawaii!!!! And we are so thrilled! My mom gifted us with her airline points and FI’s mom gifted us with our hotel reservation. They are really the sweetest.
Overall I’ve read you either want to book as early as possible or get a last minute deal… so if you’re planning ahead, sooner tends to be less expensive. Also our lodging in Kauai often books a year in advance so that was important.
Even though we’re getting married in August, we live in a cold area, so we are saving our honeymoon trip for January so we can get some sunshine in the middle of the winter. We’ll still have a little two night honeymoon right after our wedding, nothing fancy, just chill and relax at a hotel together to recuperate after all the action.
Is it weird that I am more looking forward to Hawaii than our wedding lol?
