Has anyone bought a diamond ring from Pompeii 3?

I haven’t bought a diamond from them, but I bought my fiance’s band there. He got a two-tone hammered wedding band, and it looks a lot different than the pictures.  Not bad-different, just the hammering was a little differently shaped and the ring itself was shinier.  The prices ARE fabulous, though, and they have a great return policy so I’d say go for it! As long as you get a chance to “approve” the ring within 30 days, of course 🙂

We bought my engagement ring and wedding band from Pompeii3. We bought it as a set. We originally ordered it in a size 5 1/2 because that is what I had been sized at a jewlery store. It took about a week and a half to arrive and when it did it was way too big. So we sent it back and had them resize it to a 4 3/4. Their customer service was friendly and it took about another week and a half to get the ring sent back after they received and sized it.

The ring itself is pretty, the center diamond has some black inclusions but nothing that is obvious unless you are really looking for it. The diamonds in the halo vary in quality, some are clear and really sparkly and some are dull and less sparkly.

We ordered from Pompeii3 because we didn’t have a ton of money to spend and compared to other places it was a steal. Overall I’m happy with my ring and glad that we bought it.

Like you did, I spent a lot of time reading reviews on their ebay page and did some research online to see if they were legit and worth purchasing without previously seeing the ring.

Here is the link to my ring:

And here is the actual picture of it on my hand

I also looked at this company, but haven’t ordered yet. They have a presence on Amazon.com and Etsy, too, in case you didn’t know. I noticed their inventory isn’t the same from site to site, but it’s all the same company (at least on Etsy.) I contacted them about some custom work, they got back the next day, so that’s good.

I did look at a few pieces from Pompeii on eBay and they seemed to be reasonably priced and have a lot of beautiful things… there was no specific reason as to why I never made a purchase I just didnt but I know they have a good return policy in the event you are unhappy with your purchase

@anne B:   Hi again, sorry it took me so long to reply.  Here’s a bad pic of the side view (apologize for my crappy camera, lol):

@acapulco:  Ooooooh, that’s gorgeous, go for it!

That ring setting you are thinking of is gorgeous, but I would look really closely at the diamond that you are getting – the particular one you posted has a clarity of I1, which is not good at all. That means it has large inclusions that are easily visible to the naked eye – which will greatly effect how sparkly and clear it looks.

Here’s a good site detailing the 4 C’ – clarity in particular in that link.

I know it seems like a great deal, but it’s because the center diamond is a really low quality one and will GREATLY effect the appraisal value, as well. Since it sounds like they have a decent return policy thats good, so you can return it if you don’t like it. Personally, I would be highly hesistant of any place that can’t provide a GIA diamond certification along with your ring, but it’s a totally personal decision.
