They seem to have really awsome offers, but are based in China.
My wedding dress will be shipped to me for $185.84 (incl shipping), which is half the price of quotes I’ve received to have it made for me.
On the flip side, I have never ever dealt with this company and dont know anyone who has. I also dont want the dress to come here and its to small.
What do you ladies think?

From what I understand, Alibaba is an online marketplace (kind of like eBay) but more geared towards small businesses and retailers. I know some of the vendors will sell directly to the consumer (that is, one piece at a time) but I’m not so familiar with buying on this platform.
Most Chinese brides I know get their wedding gowns off Taobao.com. It’s owned by Alibaba, but it’s the direct-to-consumer marketplace. I find it much easier to navigate, it has a rating/feedback system not dissimilar to eBay etc. On the downside, it’s entirely in Chinese. But if you search for keywords like ‘Vera Wang’, lots of results come up.
Many of the bridal/evening vendors on Taobao (and there are a dizzying selection) have bricks and mortar stores or factories. Wedding gowns are usually made in Suzhou or Guangzhou (areas known for textiles production in China). There are a TON of options.
A Chinese friend of mine had her wedding gowns made by a company in Suzhou through Taobao (a version of the Duchess of Cambridge’s McQueen gown, plus a grass green silk embroidered/beaded Elie Saab-inspired dress) and they turned out very well. They actually sent her fabric samples beforehand too, before she committed to the order.
Hope that helps!
