ME ME! I’m on the other end of the size spectrum (US 16), but there is a plus sized bridal salon about a half hour from my house. My mom’s friend made an appointment during their sample sale, so my mom made me one (before I was even engaged!), and of course I walked out with a dress and she did not! LOL

Basically, I found the dress I have always dreamed about wearing, at half the cost. It was originally $1400 and I got it for $730 out the door, My parents graciously offered to pay for it, and I got engaged a week later! lol (I think they *MAY* have known something I didn’t)

The dress had absolutely nothing wrong with it. No loose stones, no rips/stains. In fact, the consultant told me she was surprised it was in the sample sale as it was new in spring (and I bought in early june). It will need to be taken in and I want the sweetheart neckline to be a little more defined. It also needs steamed, and I bought a hoop skirt for more volume.

Best part is, I got to take it home that day! Which is perfect because I HATE waiting for things! lol

Here’s a pic with out the hoopskirt (it looks MUCH better and has a better shape with the hoop):

@peonyinlove:  I tried on a sample that was was originally $1600, discounted to $399!

I think most of the samples I tried on were about 50% off.

I bought my dress at a sample sale. Any dress in the store was 50% if you bought the sample. They do that a lot throughout the year. My dress ended up costing $400 before alterations. Honestly I’d just pick a dress from them regardless, but I am a bargainer!

Here’s my sample dress

@peonyinlove:  I bought the sample! It’s Brooklyn by Maggie Sottero and it was a discontinued design so the sample was my only option! It was a dress size 12, so there was a ton of alterations. The gown retailed for $2500 and it was $795 with alterations.

I bought my dress at a bridal outlet. It’s actually the store they film TLC’s “I found the dress” on though I’ve never seen it. It’s a few seasons old but I got a 6300 dollar gown for a little under 3k

i bought mine as a sample. original price was $1300. it was marked to $750. i paid $660 (i think). it was slightly damaged, so they took a small discount off for the damage.

Mine is a sample.  I paid 800 for a 2k gown.  And the best part?  It’s a weird dress, very long and the measurements were definitely made for a very tall bride.  So it had barely been tried on.  It looks brand new.  I need one alteration (it’s a halter, the strap is insanely long.  I need like 2 inches taken off, and I’m 6’1 with a good sized chest.)
