I bought a ring from bluenile- but ultimately ended up returning it because it did not go well with my e-ring. Other than that- the quality of the ring was very nice- it was a solid gold band, arrived quickly and packaged securely. Customer Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Finally the return process was very easy and the refund was put back on my card promptly.
I bought my wedding ring at e-weddingbands.com. I got a plain pipe cut 2mm white gold ring, so no experiences with their diamonds or anything, but they did an excellent job, and their prices were great
My fiance bought my e-ring on Whiteflash and I plan to buy the matching band from there also, which will also be an eternity band. Amazing experience! Seamless from beginning to end, great prices, no shadiness at all. Tracy, who was my contact there was more like my friend than a sales person. I was also initially very skeptical but after much research on pricescope and "verifying" my e-ring through a jewelry appraiser and a jewelry store I am convinced that it is the best way to buy a ring. And most sites understand this skepticism so they have a great return policy. My cousin bought his fiancee's ring from bluenile and had an equally fantastic experience.
Both my e-ring and my wedding band came from BlueNile. I was really pleased with how they turned out. I got the e-ring appraised locally and was delighted to know it was appraised higher than the appraisal that BlueNile had done. I would by from them again and I definitely recommend them.
I just bought my wedding ring from bluenile, amazing customer service! Have you heard about a big company like this pick up your phone call after 2 rings?! That's what happened to me when I called them on a Sunday (not busy). I have yet to hear a non-positive feedback for them!
Unfortunately I haven't seen my band yet, it's shipped to my FIL's out of state to save tax :P I can't wait to see my new ring this weekend!
FI bought my e-ring at Uniondiamond.com and I plan on getting the matching band from there. We had an awesome experience and absolutely recommend it to anyone. My e-ring was appraised for $3K more than FI paid for it.
My engagement ring and wedding band both came from Blue Nile. My engagement ring was a size too big so it had to returned to be resized. I had no issues with that. When shopping for a platinum wedding band, I found it was cheaper to shop at Blue Nile rather than going to a local jewelry store like Kay's. I would highly recommend Blue Nile because I think they have high quality jewelry and their prices are very reasonable.
We got both my engagement ring and my wedding ring from Blue Nile. THRILLED with the service, quality, prices, everything!! No complaints, whatsoever. We were nervous about making such a huge purchase on something we hadn't seen, but we just couldn't justify the huge difference in price compared to local jewelry stores. Free overnight shipping, we paid the extra 25 bucks to get it delivered on Saturday, so we could be here when it came. And it was all we hoped for and more. I get compliments from complete strangers all the time on my ring. We have recommended Blue Nile to several people and will continue to do so. Nothing to worry about with BN!
My e-ring came from Amazon.com. Initially it was a giant snafu because my fiance tried to pay by check (which never processed, very unhappy with that---the giant online company was not too great with the physical paperwork). But then he was able to pay by credit card as he had wanted to in the first place and everything went through without a hitch, very quickly. Even after that initial bad experience he stuck with them because their prices were so much better than other retailers', both brick and mortor and online. My ring is gorgeous and cost several thousand dollars less than its appraisal and several thousand less than a comparable stone and setting at bluenile. Despite our initial bad experience we will probably buy our wedding bands from amazon.com too because the price is so good.
Girls, Thank you for all the great feedback! This helps me so much in making a decision! Plus some of you mentioned places I have never heard of that I'd like to check out or places I had not thought of. I'm almost positive I'm going to take your advice and buy online as well.
DG :)
My fiance ordered my engagement ring from BlueNile and I love it!! He was able to order it online and then call them to finalize smaller details such as the clarity, colour and cut of the diamond he had chosen for the solitaire. We ordered the matching band and it is currently at my future mother-in-law's house.
They've been great to us and they ship in huge boxes without their label on the package so that people cannot tell it's a ring!!! I was concerned about it getting lost in the mail :)
my e-ring came form Joys Jeweler online! great experience! my FI said that the customer service was great and he was shocked at how quickly my ring arrived. and how great the cost was!!!
I LOVE my e-ring!!!
We plan to do our wedding rings online as well. ![]()
regarding any future maintenance, we believe we should be able to get any cleanings, ect done at a reputable private owned jewelry store.......

i got my wedding band off bluenile.co and absolutely love it! it arrived quickly and in perfect condition!
Like many others, my DH purchased my e-ring and my wedding ring as a set from Blue Nile. He was really happy with the experience. He was originally thinking he would buy me my e-ring at the gold markets in Dubai, UAE since he was over seas with the Navy at the time. Then he started thinking about what would happen if he had a problem with it. "Excuse me Mr. Random Gold Market Dealing, I had this ring appraised and it appears you've sold be a gigantic load of crap!" Um, yeah. That would be a problem! So, he decided that Blue Nile was the way to go and he's been really happy with that decision.
I purchased his wedding ring from www.applesofgold.com and was VERY happy with the experience. The ordering process was smooth, the product ship very quickly, the quality was excelent, the engraving was exactly to specifications, and the customer service was wonderful. I highly recommend them for unique men's wedding bands, especially if you're looking for Celtic knotwork!
My e-ring came from greenKarat - good service great product. good luck!
All of our rings are coming from Etsy. It's great because you're dealing directly with the person who MAKES the rings!
I bought my eternity band from Facets and was THRILLED. They had great customer service. They even gave me .12 carats more than I ordered. I worked with Pawel and he was so amazing; he really took the time out to talk and get to know me as a person not just another customer. The quality of the diamonds are impeccable and I have to say it was one of the best things I've ever bought online.
I bought the wedding band for my fiancée from eBay UK. The ring she is giving me was her grandmother's, and was 22 karat gold. Since that kind of gold is unusual here, I thought I'd have more luck finding it in the UK (where my fiancée's grandmother lived). It was a little tricky converting both the size and the currency, but we are very pleased with it.
we got ours ("Newport" in white gold) from e-weddingbands.com and loved them! the customer service was excellent and so patient with our requests, and the rings are solid and of good quality.
My e-ring and wedding band are from James Allen. They are rated by Forbes as their top jeweler choice. They are both beautiful. My FH's wedding band is from blue nile since he liked their band better.
I bought ours from Wedding Band Company and I love them. Here they are!
I bought my fiance's ring on e-weddingbands.com. I had a great experience. The ring was fairly inexpensive, they had cheap engraving, and they got it out to me really fast.
My best friend's husband bought her engagement ring on Blue Nile. It's a great ring, great quality and they were really happy with it. I bought my husband's wedding ring from titaniumkay.com. He wanted tungsten, but we found those rings to be way overpriced in stores, compared to online. It was really affordable and he loves it!
My fiance bought mine from blue nile...he got a fabulous diamond for a great price and I love the setting!
We bought my engagement ring and both of our wedding bands from Brilliant Earth and really were impressed by the quality of their customer service and products!
We bought my wedding band in a store (because I just wanted a simple gold band and it was easier that way) but we bought both my engagement ring and my FI's wedding band online from two different companies in Ireland (because we got claddaugh rings). They took a while to get here because they made them after they received our order, but we didn't have any problems with them.
I haven't, but I would be very very diligent. I like to look at jewelry sites, but you don't always get the best quality. Like some have poorer graded diamonds that you might not notice because the ring is pretty in the picture and the fact that is a poorer quality diamond is in small print near the bottom of the page. Or that stupid its and H/I .48-.57 diamond thing for the same price sounds shady.
I do like blue nile because you have the option of building your ring which includes picking out the parameters of the quality of stone and metal you want. I wouldn't buy a preset ring from them though. You'd probably be safe if the ring had no stones it in for online sites.
I think finding a reputable jeweler to work with in person is the best route. I'm biased of course because there are some jewelers in the family.
Plus, jewelers in stores sometimes like to "prove" its a good stone by letting you look at it under magnification while they tell you about its qualities.
we just purchased the FH's ring on Overstock.com for $75 (with S&H). He wasn't thrilled with the idea at first but with the wedding only 2 weeks away I wanted him to have a special ring! well now he likes the idea of having a ring he doesn't have to worry about banging up!!
I'm another Blue Nile fan, my FI got both our bands & my E ring from there and like others said, when I got it appraised it was more then what he paid for it! All the diamonds come with papers and everything is very laid out and specific. You can't beat a great diamond at a great price :)
My fiance ordered three different rings from Ebay to see what he liked best. He ordered titanium and tungsten bands all for under $25 each with shipping...he loves them all and they look great.
I don't want to be the bah-humbug person, but I've heard to be careful of buying online because sometimes the flaws are filled with a solution to try and hide the flaws. The only way to know that was done if the ring was taken to a jeweler. By doing this the structural integrity of the ring can be compromised and if the ring is struck in just the right way, due to the solution being plugged into the diamond, the diamond can break. Just FYI. Please don't think I'm trying to be mean. Just wanted to put that information out there.
Has anyone used Todd Alan Studios Hand-Woven Bands?
http://www.handwovenbands.com/
We are in love with the pictures. Does anyone have experience working with him, either good or bad?
no, but I kind of wished I had as it probably would have been much eaier to return if it didn't fit like my ring is now!

While looking for my wedding ring (an eternity band) I am seeing many sites like Blue Nile etc.. becoming more popular to buy a ring at. Has anyone ever tried this? or do you know of anyone who bought their ring online? How was your experience? Were you happy with it? Would you recommend any place over another? Some are coming up in my searches quite a bit...Juno Jewelry, Facets, New York Diamond Traders etc.. Any info on any of them?
Thanks!
