Has anyone bought Walmart wedding bands?

I don’t buy jewelry from Walmart.  However, a gold band is a gold band.  My concern would be making sure the rings are gold, and not gold plated.

Totalkaos1983:  I think you’ll be fine with plain bands. The band I got married with was from Walmart. Like PP said, a plain band is a plain band, and it was real gold.

My first engagement ring came from there and it was fine. If you looking to save on money then for bands check out amazon. We got my DH ring for $40ish and it been really nice and durable for his profession.

Totalkaos1983:  I had ordered custom bands for my husband and me that were not yet in when I eloped. I was going to use the bands we got married with in a display(his was from Walmart too). They ended up getting lost when we moved  The band I have now is a plain yellow gold band from K-mart. I’ve been wearing it for 5 years with no problems. Real gold will be stamped on the inside of the band with the karat weight.

I think you can get a real bargain going with Walmart or a place like it for your bands. I’d be careful getting anything more intricate from them. I bought a citrine ring from there that lost the stone with in a few days of my purchase

Totalkaos1983:  At this point in my life, we commission custom jewelry, so we don’t buy anything from big box stores (Walmart, JC Penney, Macy’s, etc.), or chain jewelry stores (Kay, Helzberg, Zales, Jared, Shane Co, etc.).  I have bought jewelry from chain jewelry stores in the past though.

Here’s a New 3mm solid yellow gold comfort fit wedding band on ebay for $69.

Same seller. New 5mm solid yellow gold comfort fit wedding band for $106.

The smallest available in the 3mm is a size 6. One left. The 5mm ones have just one left too, sizes 6-12.

I’d like to agree with the others that gold is gold. Gold rings do tend to bend over time, no matter where you get them, if the ring is thin enough. I suspect the sizes you are looking for would hold up just fine.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with buying from WalMart. Maybe see if you can find reviews online for the bands you’re considering?

If your FI is not comfortable with buying from Walmart, there are other cost effective options, such as eBay, Etsy or second hand/vintage rings.

This is an eBay seller with great prices on wedding bands, I’ve purchased a setting from them and everything was great. I think this band would look nice with your ering

Totalkaos1983:  I see nothing wrong with buying a plain gold band from a big box store.

Totalkaos1983:  I don’t think there is any reason why you couldn’t get them inscribed. Good luck, and keep us posted on what you choose!

Nothing wrong with buying from Walmart! My husband actually bought my promise ring years ago for $300 at kays guess where I saw the same exact ring a few weeks ago? Walmart for 100$! And they still sell it at kays too! I’m pretty sure the chain jewelery stores like kays and zales are supplied by the same china supplier that supplies walmarts jewelry so your getting the same quality without paying the jacked up mall chains prices
