those are really pretty cakes! and i love the idea... i didnt do this, but normall cakes are priced by the slice - i did a 3 tier cake @ $4.00 a slice to feed 120 people. given that there are six tiers there i think it may be a little bit more expensive - but if you make the cakes small it may equal out - its woth talking to a vendor about and seeing the cost difference between the two.
I think it will be more expensive, because there will be more slices and more work involved in 3 separate 2tier cakes, as compared to one 3or 4 tier cake
@HnyBee: it's more expensive. I had a bride do this same thing. It was almost double the price of what she would have paid for the 4 tier traditional to cover her guests.
I dont know but I would assume it would be the same as a bigger cake with the same amount of servings. Most cake places charge you by serving. But I love the idea. These cakes are beautiful.

Hi everyone! I found this lovely inspiration picture and I was just wondering did anyone else do a small grouping of 2 layer cakes? If so was it more expensive than the traditional wedding cake? Do you have any photos you can post? Thanks!
