- Wedding: October 2013
Hi ladies. 🙂
I’m in the wedding of a dear friend next year, and I’m helping her with her wedding crafts. Something she wants to do is hand out etched mason jars as her favors. However, she didn’t want to have them pre-etched, but instead etch them herself to save money. She bought all the jars and etching equipment (the etching paste and stencil, etc) but is having a really difficult time getting the stencil to lie flat on the surface of the mason jar. This is making their stencils look smudged and messy instead of crisp, because the paste is seeping/leaking under the stencil in places.
Have any of you crafty Bees ever taken on this task, or a similar one? The stencil seller told her to try putting panty hose over the jar and stencil before painting on the paste, but that barely makes any difference.
