If one of my clients asked me this I’d assume it was a joke. You can ask but don’t be surprised if your photog is offended and/or refuses. It’s their product your buying, not someone eles.

I know when I shoot weddings my photos will be better than anybody elses in attendance, no question. If your friends are getting better photos with their point and click, then the photog isn’t very good.

I know I used some guest photos in my wedding album because they got shots that my photog didn’t, but I made my album myself. Maybe go that route?

I made my own album on adoramapix and I used some guest photos it made for a great album because there were different point of views in addition to the professional photos

I don’t think the photographer would be super willing to do this, because if they made the book then it should be a reflection of their work, not other peoples. I totally get why you might want those pictures, but I would look at making the book yourself instead to incorporate those pictures.

We used picaboo.com for our wedding and engagement books and they turned out awesome so I would recommend making a book through them. I had zero experience before and it was super easy.

i sorta asked my photog this – she kinda misunderstood exactly what i meant though.  since i am having a BBQ at home reception this weekend, i had asked my photog if i could include some pics from my AHR because all my BMs will be there and not all were able to come to our wedding in Jamaica.  my photog said she would advise against it and i should just make a “Jamaica” album.  i realized though that i didnt mention the key part that i was doing a formal photo shoot with all my BMs (before the BBQ starts) and i didn’t mean i wanted pics from the BBQ party itself.  she then seemed to understand my request and was okay with it,  but at the same time i can sense she still didn’t think it was the best idea.

thing is now even if i did a Jamaica only album, i have some guest photos from Jamaica that i LOVE that my photog just didn;t get that day (no fault to her, she got a TON of everything else). so i am not sure what i will do yet. i am definitely going to look into making my own album, but if i decide to go thru my photog, i think i will just use her pics….
