I would really love to go to Greece for my Honeymoon but am kind of leary of the language barrier etc. I’m thinking maybe a greek cruise of the mediterrranean is the way to go but not sure. I still need to go to a travel agent for further research. Just thought id see if any of you ladies had been/could share some insight!

i can’t speak for greece specifically but we did take a 2 week mediterranean cruise to italy and croatia so i can speak for the language barrier. we had no problem what so ever, english is a 2nd and sometimes firstr language to alot of the locals over there in the highly popluated touristy areas, which if you took a cruise the ports are generally placed in those areas.
we did learn a couple of ‘go to’ phrases. wheres the bathroom, please, thank you ect. but for the most part they would respond to us in english bc it was clear we weren’t familiar with their language. the european countries are very accomodating!

I’ve never been on a cruise, but I have been on holiday to Greece and Cyprus several times and they are both amazing places. I’ve been to the greek island of Corfu several times, and it is so beautiful it’s unreal. I would highly recommend going. As for the language barrier, I agree with @FutureMrsPolizzi: most people in Greece can speak English as their first or second language so you shouldn’t find it a problem x

I haven’t gone on a cruise, but I travelled extensively around the whole Mediterranean and you should have no problem. The towns see cruise ships every week, so most people speak English in those areas. It’s always polite to learn a few phrases in their language, but not necessary.
